"I'll go left, you go right," Conor suggested. "After we've been going for an hour, we turn around and come back here. Then, we go together, down whichever route looks more promising. Sound fair enough?"
Rupert nodded - and so, Conor dashed off down the left tunnel, while his friend took the alternative route.
As it turned out, Conor's path was brightly-lit and well-travelled: he passed several carts on the way, suggesting that he was taking the correct path. Sure enough, less than half an hour later, he was in the bustling town square of Kemmelhearth.
Sadly, all was not well. He spotted Runrik the dwarf in the centre of the town square - with a swollen red bruise on his head, where he had just been thwacked with a hammer. The dwarf responsible for this was fuming at him in a language which Conor was unable to comprehend: the only two words he could pick out were "bleedin' biscuit"...
