Fortunately, Kyle was able to sleep through the crashing of the waves and the shaking of the ship, as it navigated its way through the choppy, foam-crested waters of the Lennart Sea. Even as the waves grew taller and more violent, he remained undisturbed, such was his exhaustion following his ordeal with the barrels.
He remained curled on the floor until the evening, when the ship finally moored itself against a mossy, rocky cliff, about a mile out from New Atlantis, and just out of sight of the main tower. Then, the cohort of soldiers all stood up from their beds at once, the sound of their boots resonating throughout the ship like an almighty thunder clap. This jolted Kyle out of his slumber, and alerted him to the fact that it was time to go.
