Reading words aloud that adults scribble on an erasable tablet may not be the way many children spend their second birthdays. But it’s how Isla McNabb celebrated turning two, and it put the native of Crestwood, Kentucky, on the path to become the youngest ever female member of Mensa, the world’s oldest high IQ society, her parents said in a recent interview.

In a conversation published on Monday, Isla’s parents, Jason and Amanda McNabb, told the Guinness World Records website that they realized their daughter’s intelligence should be assessed after an aunt gave her an erasable writing tablet as a second birthday present.

Jason said he wrote the word “red” on the board, and Isla was able to read it back to him, even though she was about four or five years below the age when most children typically acquire that ability.

Wow :O . It's amazing that it's even possible to test her IQ at that age, but she's already shown exceptional intelligence!

I wonder what she might go on to achieve?

I get so impressed with anybody who has good intelligence, especially those at a young age. I've watched some TV shows showing these exceptional kids.
It's just like how people who are inventors. Creating something from literal scratch & building an empire.
I'm sure she'll go very far!

She certainly is a remarkable little girl

The only thing that I can see as a possible drawback in these situations is the fact that child prodigies are unable to have a normal (by most peoples standards at least) childhood. Their whole life is mapped out and defined by their genius.

Hopefully her parents will strive to keep things as realistic as possible for her and I wish them all the best

Yeah, that certainly true. And there's also a risk that she'll be pushed too hard and end up burning out :( .

Obviously, for her sake, I hope that doesn't happen!
