The above summary did sound quite "doom and gloom"... but, I found an article suggesting a potential upside to a rogue planet entering our Solar System. We might be able to land on it, and take ourselves out into interstellar space without building our own spaceship!

Of course, we'd need to set up a new colony on the rogue planet, and that wouldn't necessarily be easy... but, at least we'd have a lot of raw materials to work with .
