I remember my mom had hens and a rooster, she would collect the eggs anyway, and I remember one of those eggs being fertilized. She made a lemon cake and I never did eat it because seeing that egg really disturbed me.(10-15-2018, 04:26 AM)ObsessedwithBirds Wrote:When my wife cooks Eggs for herself or the kids, I have to leave. I'm going to try them, as someone who can't use/eat chicken period eggs without wanting to hurl.
Nice! I'm glad you found them. Yes, I love how you called them periods too. Lol
I mean, I haven't exactly avoided things with disguised Egg, however - like cakes or what have you, so long as I haven't cooked it and don't think about the E factor.
But, they are gross. They are periods (and I? actually know someone IRL who independently from me came to this conclusion also.) But yeah, now that I know I can avoid them in my own cooking entirely it makes me very happy.
Period is actually a good reference (it's not literally a period but it's close enough), it's extremely painful and time-consuming for the hen.
