UN: URALICA 6TH-BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD TO LIVE IN, 4TH IN EUROPE, AND 1ST IN NCIS
Thanks to its "conscious capitalism," excellent social programs (especially in education), and balance between focus on the individual and focus on the community, Uralica has made the top ten of the UN's Inequality-Adjusted Human Development Index yet again, finishing sixth. Canada and Japan are the only countries ahead of them outside of Europe and one of just three such countries (the other being New Zealand) in the top ten. Within Europe, Nordland, Switzerland, and Germany were ahead of Uralica.
The world's inequality-adjusted HDI average has been on a steady increase since it began being calculated again in 2016, a lot of which has to do with the "absolute bottom" rising year after year and simply with there being more money in the world. Uralica has much to be proud of, with its education coefficients being the highest in the world thanks to its 100% high-school graduation rates for seven years running (predating Dispersion) but slips because of its lower average life expectancy, which is factored down to such things as genetics, carry-over from pre-Robertian health issues, and climate, all things which are being worked on.
Here are this year's top 10 lists (numbers not shown):

NHL-NAMPHA AFFILIATION PROGRAM EXPANDING AGAIN
After its 2018 move to expand from eight to ten affiliated fourth-tier NAMPHA teams two years ago proved to be such a success that every National Hockey League team maxed out, the NHL's front office is now set to allow two more NAMPHA teams per NHL/AHL/ECHL team, with the blessing of the AHL and the outright enthusiasm of the ECHL.
While this means absolutely nothing for the already fully-claimed leagues such as the OPHL and LHPQ, it's a huge opportunity for most of the other leagues. None of the other Canadian leagues - the Pacific Northwest, Prairie-Shield, or Maritime Hockey Leagues - are expected to have all 32 teams affiliated, partially because all three leagues have teams that stubbornly choose to remain independent, such as the Kamloops Sun Devils and Penticton Scorpions of the PNHL, the PSHL's North Battleford Posse, and the MHL's Iqaluit Nanuks, who are North America's only fully-indigenous-owned professional sports team. But the other reason, of course, is that there are ten other NAMPHA leagues in the Old United States. Two in particular, the Erie and Lake Michigan Hockey Leagues, may actually get their remaining teams affiliated, as they have six and five left respectively. The most expansion in affiliation, though, is expected in the Dakota-based Minnesota State Professional and Great Plains Hockey Leagues.
"It's going to be interesting to see who queues up whom," says NAMPHA President Daniel Shank. "The way this year is going it may happen before the NHL finally gets their butts in gear with the Entry Draft! I'm a little disappointed with the Penticton Scorpions taking their names off the list for potential affiliates, but hey, it's not like the AHL or ECHL where affiliation is required. It'll be good regardless. More people able to go in the NAMPHA Draft and work their way up, ya know?"
Most pundits still think it's unlikely that Utah and Mexico will get too many more affiliation deals, but a couple think that Mexico could get up to four more out of the 64, and some that Utah may be good for one or two.
And indeed, some of the 64 spots have already been claimed, even though Shank and NHL commish Bill Daly only made the announcement this morning. The Watertown Wolves signed a 5-year affiliation deal with the Hartford Whalers, OmaHockey Enterprises (who own the AHL's Nebraska Renegades) bought the Grand Island Golems, which automatically ties them to the Saskatchewan Warriors, and the Calgary Flames decided to have Idaho Sports Properties (owner of their ECHL affiliates the Idaho Steelheads) officially connect the Nampa Phantoms to the Steelheads, and in doing so to the Flames and the AHL's Kelowna Inferno.
