NHL DRAFT POSTPONED DUE TO "VENUE MALFUNCTION" IN VANCOUVER
Pitt Meadows - the massive HBC Sportsplex in the Pitt Meadows borough of Vancouver, which contains the world's largest ice hockey arena, has had some technical difficulties, which has forced the NHL draft to be moved to the 6th of July. A rather embarrassed mayor of Vancouver says that it was an unforeseen electrical problem in a hard-to-reach portion of HBC-4, the presentation stage, and it requires that the interior of the building be partially dismantled. But with the number of workers the contracting company has put on it, the whole process should not take more than ten days, and then they are sitting out the weekend for the 4th of July for Americans, who are the second-largest group represented in terms of draft prospects.
