Chapter 3
It had taken quite awhile before I finally landed on Earth. I sighed as I realized I landed in the middle of a cornfield. "Great. I wonder where I am exactly." I muttered as I exited my ship. I already knew I would have my powers once again thanks to Earth's sun. I used cornstalks to hide my ship and then flew to my uncle's location.
I could hear a heated battle between my father and my uncle. I already knew of my uncle's secret identity, so it was no surprise when I landed. I made sure I wasn't yet seen when I landed.
I noticed Father had Kal in a headlock and was attempting to choke the life out of his brother. I was fuming when I shouted, "Father, stop!"
Father was genuinely shocked when he saw me.
Kal was as well. He glanced from Father to me.
Father let Kal go and immediately asked, "Jana, what are you doing here? Why are you here?"
"Alura sent me," I explained. "She though if you saw me, it would appeal to your sense of humanity."
Father sneered and said, "I care nothing for these humans."
"I don't believe that!" I shouted at him. I looked at my uncle and said, "Are you all right, Kal?"
Kal/Superman was still in his suit and was coughing as he managed to answer, "I'm fine, Jana.
"I will return in three days.. Hopefully by then you have come to your senses and will join me." He said. He glanced at me and added, "Stay with Kal and his family until I return for you." Without saying another word, my father flew off to whereever he was staying here on Earth.
Now in his civilian clothes, my uncle approached me and said, "Why don't you come home with me?"
I nodded, but looked worried. I wasn't too sure, and I know Kal could clearly see why. "Are you sure?" I asked him, worriedly.
He shot me a confident smile and nodded. "Yeah. I know you aren't evil like your father, so its fine. I am sure Aunt Lois and the boys would love to meet you." He said.
We both then took off and flew toward the Kent Farm.
------------------------------------------------
We landed out back, so no one would notice and he then led me inside the house. Aunt Lois and the twins were inside waiting for Kal to return home. The twins were in the living room watching television while Aunt Lois was in the kitchen.
We came through the front door, seeing the twins immediately. They rose from the living room couch and met us in the hallway.
I shyly smiled and said, "Hi. I'm your cousin, Jana.
Jordan returned the smile, until it sunk in when she mentioned they are cousins. "Wait. Cousins?" He asked me. He was clearly in shock.
I nodded and sighed. "My dad is Tal-Ro. My mom was human." I explained.
Kal immediately explained. "Tal and I both have the same mother, making us half-brothers."
Both boys nodded then. "Where is your mom?" Jonathan asked her.
"Dad killed her when I was little, so she is dead." I answered, sadly. I lowered my head, remembering the worst day of my life.
"I"m so sorry, Jana." They both said, solemnly. They then went on the introduce themselves to me.
While we continued to chat, Kal went into the kitchen to speak to his wife.
------------------------------------------
Kal walked into the kitchen and shot a grin at his wife. "We are going to have a guest staying with us for awhile." He said.
"Oh really?" Aunt Lois asked. "Who is that?" She glanced at him with an interested look on her face.
"Tal has a daughter of his own. She is fifteen and is half-Kryptonian. Her name is Jana. She and her brother stayed in an orphanage for two years before Alura came and got them. They were both taken to Argo and raised there until today." Kal explained.
"Wait. You mean, she is here right now?" Aunt Lois asked him, surprised.
"She is with the boys right now, so yes." He answered. "Lois, she isn't evil like her father. In fact, she is the exact opposite." Noticing the look she was giving him, he added, "She is also careful not to use her powers in public. As a matter of fact, I think she is afraid she will wind up alone yet again."
Lois nodded and then said, "Okay. She can stay with us. I honestly wouldn't mind getting to know my niece."
They exchanged smiles and then went to find the kids.
