And the other thing is: the number of potential conflicts increases exponentially as you add more people. If you have 10 people, that's not 10 potential conflicts: it's 45 potential conflicts (because there are 10*(10-1)/2 = 45 ways to pick a pair of people out of a group of 10). And if you have 20 people, that's 20*(20-1)/2 = 190 potential conflicts!
Well, it's not necessarily a bad thing - because it works in the other direction too. For exactly the same reason, 10 people means 45 potential friendships - and 20 people means 190 potential friendships .
Still, for something like a Moon mission, you probably do want people who will form lasting friendships with one another!
