A shadowy figure arrived at the police station, and he was dressed in a scruffy black leather jacket and black denim jeans.  It was Shauna's father, Nicholas Daniels.  He had arrived to take care of getting his estranged daughter out of jail. He didn't seem to care his daughter wanted nothing to do with him.

He approached her jail cell and softly said her name. "Shauna?" He was braced for her verbal attack on him.  He knew she had previously refused to even speak to him since he walked out on his family many years ago.
Ordinarily, Nicholas would have been right: her daughter would have wanted nothing to do with her. However, after her most recent altercation, she was so desperate for support that she was willing to speak even to him.

"F...father?" she whispered softly. "Why are you here?"
Nicholas shot her an angry look as he said, "I was called after the police couldn't track down your mother. I know all about what you did, and I am not happy with you." He stepped closer to the jail cell bars and added, "How could you do something so destructive as well as childish?"
Shauna sighed, and growled in disgust.

"So you came here just to tell me off? You don't think I've received enough abuse from the cops here? I really thought, just this once, you were here to help... if you're not gonna get me out of here, go away!"
"No one has any idea where your mother is, so if you push me away, you're here to stay for awhile!" He shouted back in response at his daughter. His tone dripped with anger.
"Well you're not here to help anyway!" Shauna scowled. "So I'll be here for a while either way! Unless you are here to get me out... in which case, get on with it!"
Nicholas glared at her and shrugged. "If you don't want my help, then fine!" He angrily shouted at her. "Rot in here until your mother gets off her ass and comes, then!" He then turned and left.
"NO!" Shauna scowled, hoping that her father was still close enough to hear her. "I didn't mean it like that. I do want your help... please... come back!"
Nicholas shook his head defiantly and kept walking away angrily.

The guard then stepped closer to the jail cell and said, "Your father left."
"Well, I'm better off without him anyway!" Shauna groaned. "He tells me off; then accuses me of not wanting his help; then when I say I do want his help, he leaves. He was clearly just there to be a ****** to me!"
