A member has just returned after a long time..(not sure exactly) and thanked me for not deleting their account. Why would I? The member had done nothing wrong, therefore there is..in my opinion..no need for the account to be deleted. As you said Chris..people have lives, stuff happens,(as has recently with me). Unless you break our guidelines,or turn out to be a spammer or an awful abusive person, your account will remain.
Remember, if an account is deleted, the member can re-register. If an account is banned, they'd have to use a different email address and username to register. If I were you, I'd ban for clarity to said member. Of course though - your board, your choice
Well, I don't have a problem with them re-registering under the same username and email (assuming they hadn't done anything bannable when the account was deleted, of course!)
Well, there are always exceptions to every rule, and it's all at your discretion as the owner of this forum
