Yeah, I like doing those too.

I am prone to forgetting about them, though... so, if they disappear for a long stretch, it's probably just that I've forgotten all about them !

This evening, @"Greninlucarizardlup" came up with me with the idea of running a general-knowledge quiz via Discord voice chat. After a bit of discussion between the two of us, I decided the best way to do it would be as follows:

• Each person would have 2 minutes in which to answer as many questions as possible.
  
• Whoever gets the most questions right would win a prize of Coffee Credits.
  
• Looking up the answers (e.g. via Google) would be allowed. However, since this is a high-speed quiz against the clock, I don't think you could succeed by doing this: it'd probably be quicker just to say 'Pass' and move on to the next question . (I did think about "How would I stop people from using Google?", and I decided that I couldn't - so, I would just design the format in a way that made Google useless !)

I think this might be good fun; however, it would take quite a bit of preparation (I'd need to compile some lists of questions, and practice reading them at an appropriate speed ). Therefore, I'd like to know who would be interested before I actually make a start on it.

Yeah, those are both good ideas. I'll see what I can think of .

I am currently looking for ideas for new contests - even if they're similar to something we're doing already .

For example, take the "What Is This?" contest that's currently running. I'll freely admit that it isn't the most original idea in the world: it's similar to caption contests, which is why it gives away the same colour ribbon . However, I think it works for a different style of picture: caption contests are best for pictures that have something going on in them, whereas the "What Is This?" format works better for ordinary pictures of everyday objects .
