Quite often, when people eat grapefruit (or other citrus fruit), they'll just throw away the peel. However, it's possible to use it in some pretty creative ways. For example, it's possible to turn them into a plant-based fried chicken alternative, known in Cuba as 'bistec de toronja' (or 'grapefruit steak'). In the following video, YouTube user Sauce Stache explains how to make it:

Now, this does look like a rather messy recipe, and I've never tried it, so I don't know whether it would taste much like fried chicken (and of course, I don't think it would be at all workable as a nutritional replacement for fried chicken!). However, has anybody here ever tried anything like it?
