New species!

And now, a new species of bee fly has been discovered in Australia - and named after the Night King from Game of Thrones:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-48824890

Paramonovius nightking was so named because it has spines that resemble those on its namesake's head; it's most active at winter; and it turns other insects into 'zombies'.

Another of these 'museum discoveries' now. This time, it's an early Jurassic dinosaur:

https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/n...index.html

The remains had been found in 1978, and they were originally identified as Massospondylus fossils. However, further investigation has revealed that it's an entirely new species. For now, it's been named Ngwevu intloko (Xhosa for "grey skull").

Now, a new species of stegosaur, known as Adratiklit boulahfa, has been discovered. This is the oldest-known stegosaur, at 168 million years old:

Funny to think that T. rex lived closer to the present day than it did to this beast - by about 30 million years :O !

Yep. Though, when we're dealing with dinosaurs as old as that, I do have to wonder just how accurate those graphics are :P . I suspect much of it is just guesswork.

Seeing as how they're closely related to Dacentrurus, they have to use that as a base.

Ah, makes sense :) .

Anyway, another species of reptile has been identified - this time, from 200 million years ago. It comes from a rock dug up in a quarry in Wales in the 1950s, and left in a museum since then:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-49528904

The species has been named Aenigmaspina pantyffynnonensis, after the Pant-y-ffynnon Quarry, in which it was found.
