Now since most of you guys have never seen much of Oklahoma, might as well post some of my favourite architecture here.

Inside the Oklahoma Capitol building:

Other pics are from Wikipedia

Oklahoma City National Memorial:
[Image: Oklahoma_City_National_Memorial_4886.jpg]
Each empty chair represents the 168 people and the three unborn children are listed underneath their mothers.

[Image: 1280px-Oklahoma_City_Bombing_National_Me...601%29.jpg]
We come here to remember Those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever. May all who leave here know the impact of violence. May this memorial offer comfort, strength, peace, hope and serenity.

[Image: 1280px-The_Survivor_Tree_at_the_Oklahoma...morial.jpg]
The Survivor Tree: An American Elm on the north side of the Memorial, this was the only shade tree in the parking lot across the street from the Murrah Building. Commuters arrived early to get one of the shady parking spots provided by its branches. Photos of Oklahoma City taken in the 1920s show the tree to be about 100 years old. [source]
Underneath the tree, it reads:
The spirit of this city and this nation will not be defeated; our deeply rooted faith sustains us.

Skydance Bridge
[Image: 1280px-Skydance_Bridge_Under_Construction.jpg]
This is one of the coolest bridges. I've seen it several times. It's supposed to resemble a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher.

Arcadia Round Barn:

I've seen this building many, many times but I've only been inside three times. Can you believe it's 120 years old?

I love the mix of nature and architecture.

Looks like I.M. Pei created it:

I'm not surprised in the least bit, he did create the Louvre.

Congrats on the 129400 posts too. lol.

The Parthenon, as it would have appeared in ancient times:

(Source: http://patrickmurfin.blogspot.com/2014/0...-gets.html)

The sculptures along the top of the building would all have been painted up - but, of course, the paint all eventually flaked off, leaving the bare white marble we're familiar with today. (And then, in 1687, much of the structure was destroyed in an explosion, hence why it doesn't really have a roof any more)

I’m not sure but it looks like it’s still being restored. This is from 2016:
From the Archaeology Wiki:
https://www.archaeology.wiki/blog/agenta...n-project/

This has to be one of the best ancient structures. Not only being impressive, it’s beautiful and I can’t believe the ancient Greeks built this, lacking modern equipment.

Nice - though, I have to admit, it looks a bit odd in among all those other buildings. Maybe if the vertical garden were extended down the entire street, then it'd look less out of place :P !

I do wish vertical gardens were more popular. :(

This has to be my favourite sculpture ever. It's called Woodpecker Column,  and it's outside of the Toronto Metro Centre. I've seen it, and I *had* a picture of me with it in the background, but have no idea where that is. *shrug*

This one is a giant Yellow-bellied Sapsucker:

Sally Wilson

This one's a giant Pileated Woodpecker:
[Image: 682px-ONTARIO-00371_-_Pileated_Woodpecke...452%29.jpg]
Dennis Jarvis from Halifax, Canada

"Near the south entrance to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is the Woodpecker Column by artists Dai Skuse and Kim Kozzi working collaboratively under the name Fastwürms."

I found a video:

Wow, looks like it attracts some nice birds!

Do you know roughly how many species feed there?
