Over the years, millions of different toys have been produced - of vastly varying quality levels. Some of them have been exquisitely-engineered, with a high degree of play value - and a high price to match. However, at the other end of the market, there are much cheaper toys designed to appeal to those on a budget. To be fair, not all of these toys are bad: some of them offer a reasonably high degree of playability, especially considering the low cost. Others, on the other hand, are just nasty - and are best avoided altogether. Whatever the case, this is a thread to talk about any cheap toys that you've either heard about, or owned yourself.
I'll start off with a YouTube video from Sam's Trains - in which he introduces a cheap battery-electric train set that he bought for just £7.49. He goes through an unboxing and review - and then, just for laughs, tests it out on his (much more expensive) model railway track, to see whether it works :
I don't own one of those £7 train sets - but, it's amusing to see a serious reviewer getting his hands on one . Though, to be honest, it does seem playable enough: I'm not saying the quality is any good, but it sounds like it has its place in the budget market!
So, have you owned any cheap/budget toys that you'd like to discuss?
