A while back, in the "Favourite Comedians" thread, I nominated Dave Gorman as one of mine - and, in particular, I noted Modern Life is Goodish as one of my favourite shows by him. As the title suggests, this show aimed to convince us that modern life was good - but not without its flaws. Typically, he'd over-analyse everyday items and situations for comic effect - although, sometimes, he'd pull pranks on his friends and family, and make fun of random idiots on the internet . In particular, he'd make poems out of dumb internet comments about a particular issue - which could be hilarious :
Sadly, after five wonderful series, the show came to an end in December 2017. Gorman posted a blog entry explaining his reasons for ending it - but, essentially, it's because it was too much work for one person to produce all the slides, and it wasn't the kind of work that lent itself to being done by a team. Still, it was sad to see it go - and, all that was left was a few YouTube clips that had been uploaded by fans of the show.
Fortunately, that's begun to change. Over the past couple of months, Gorman has begun uploading a large number of clips from the show to his own YouTube channel, so we can enjoy them once again. I'll start with the following clip, where he invents his own version of the game show Catchphrase - but with incorrect catchphrases that he found on the internet :
So, has anybody else seen this show - and, do you have any favourite moments?
