I notice that we never started a thread about the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League . So, here we are. (Of course, with the coronavirus going around, who knows whether the rest of it will even go ahead ?)

Still, for now, it is going ahead - and, RB Leipzig just knocked Tottenham out with a 3-0 victory:

Indeed: they didn't score any - which is surprising, since they've been one of our top teams recently .

Then again, I suppose even the best teams have their off-days...

And now, Liverpool are out too, following a 3-2 loss to Atlético Madrid:

Quite surprising, given how dominant Liverpool have been in the Premier League this year. I don't know how much of the rest of the tournament will be played... but, I suppose Atlético Madrid can be proud of what they've achieved so far.

Well, as with pretty much every other sporting event, this got postponed - but, UEFA are holding out hope of finishing it this summer. Their current plan is to play the final in Istanbul on 29th August:

Well, here's a scoreline you don't see every day:

Bayern Munich 8 - 2 Barcelona

This is unusual, not only because of the lopsidedness, but because Barcelona are on the receiving end of it . Normally, they'd be the ones inflicting it on some poor punchbag!

And now there's been quite a major upset :

Manchester City 1 - 3 Lyon

Apparently, Manchester City had a chance to equalise when they were only 2-1 down... but then, Raheem Sterling missed an open goal . Sums it all up, really.

This means the semi-finals will be as follows:

RB Leipzig vs. Paris Saint-Germain
Lyon vs. Bayern Munich

Given how dominant Bayern Munich have been at every stage of this competition, it's hard for me to see them losing - but then, major surprises do happen...

Well, the results of those two matches were what you might have expected:

RB Leipzig 0 - 3 Paris Saint-Germain
Lyon 0 - 3 Bayern Munich

Surprisingly, this is PSG's first ever appearance in a Champions League final. However, in order to win the tournament, they'll need to find some way to defeat the all-conquering Bayern Munich team. Can they do it?

And, in a result that's likely to surprise nobody, Bayern Munich have defeated PSG to win the UEFA Champions League:

Paris Saint-Germain 0 - 1 Bayern Munich

If anything, the only surprise here is the low margin of victory . Even so, congrats to Bayern Munich!
