You know how it is... we can --usually-- get any food we want, any time we want, but there are some dishes that only our mums really know how to pull off, and thus we are in for an underwhelming time whenever we have them someplace else.
Whether this is because we have grown accustomed to our family's recipe or because the dishes are actually superior when homemade is entirely open to interpretation, but the thing is that we really do tend to feel this way when it comes to some meals.
My candidate for the topic is my mum's Spanish tortilla.
Whie much thinner than a shop-brought one, I find it to be a million times tastier and I really have a hard time tackling a restaurant take on this dish. My mum's is softer and not packed with hard potatoes, which makes for a much lighter lunch to have on the go.
