Usually, when a household appliance gets broken or damaged, it'll be repaired or replaced at the earliest convenient opportunity. However, there are occasions when the damage is tolerable: the appliance still kind of works, and we'll find ways to deal with its defects. Do you have any items that are like this?
My main one has to be my bed, which is held up with piles of old books instead of legs (I think it might still have one leg in one corner, but at least three of the legs have gone ). It's as awkward as it sounds: sometimes, the bed slides off, and the whole unsteady assembly needs rebuilding . Then there's also my lampshade in my bedroom, which is very wonky after having been knocked and bumped into a few too many times over the years .
What about you?
