The "Which forum does this go in?" thread

Hmmmm....he started out as a book character, but he's since appeared in all kinds of other media. I'd follow the precedent of Harry Potter and Game of Thrones (both of which have similar situations), and start it in the 'Language and Literature' board. 

Though, in truth, I have been toying with the idea of changing 'Language and Literature' to just 'Language', and moving those book threads to Entertainment with all the other popular culture (perhaps in a new 'Books' sub-forum). The main reason why I haven't done that yet is because History and Culture is quite small already, and I don't want to make it even smaller!

My "Record $1.6bn jackpot for Mega Millions" thread went into Leisure and Playtime. The reason for this is that the forum description reads "Talk about toys, card games, board games, or any other leisure or recreational activity that doesn't already have its own forum!" - and I think lotteries come under 'any other leisure or recreational activity that doesn't already have its own forum'.

(On the other hand, if this Sport and Media overhaul goes ahead, then it'll go in the Recreation Station!)

I'm thinking about making a topic to discuss Steam as a program, which forum would be best suited for it? This is more of a question for future reference, though, since I'm likely to shove it in the blog section, but I'm planning on other software-related topics.

I think putting it in the Technology and Computers section should do the trick.

Since it's directly related to gaming, I'd say Gaming would be the best place.

Dammit, my answer got ninja'd ! 

So, just to repeat it: Gaming would be the place for that, since it's directly related to gaming. (There is a precedent for this, BTW: threads like "Steam glitch allowed unlimited free downloads" have been put in the Gaming forum)

Now, a couple more of my own examples: 
 

• 'Kevin the Carrot' toy causes chaos at shops - Should this go in 'Shopping' or 'Toys and Games'? I decided it was half and half, so I'm just leaving in the main Recreation Station forum for now. (I may move it later, depending on what path the discussion takes) (OBSOLETE)
  
  
• 4-hour bamboo house designed - Definitely a 'Topical Discussion'-type thread, but it doesn't really fit anywhere within that section. It could go in Health and Lifestyle (because we could discuss what it'd be like to live in it), or it could go in Technology and Computers (because we could discuss how it's engineered), but honestly, neither of those places seemed like a great fit. So, I put it in the Intellectual Curiosity Chamber (for the same reasons as the colour combinations thread from a few posts up).

Now another one: 

I put my thread about the World Chess Championship into 'Toys and Games'. I decided to put it there, and not in Sport, because:
 

• The Chess Problems Thread is already in Toys and Games, and I wanted to keep all the chess stuff together;
  
• Putting it in Sport would have caused the thread to devolve into "Is chess a sport?" (which I don't think it really is: competitive chess has some of the characteristics of a sport, but that's not the same thing as it being a sport).
