New RPGs: Ideas/Discussion thread

The only issue with that is we'd potentially have to dial back the last few posts of Searching for a Songbird. I can think of a couple of ways to go about that if we nix the sentient animal city (which you guys would use for the other RP), but I'm not sure how we'd continue with that if we are keeping it.

On another note, I had been really enjoying The Mother Tree and hope that we can pick up the pace on that one again. I love that we have some sort of rival group who we will likely run into at several junctures. I think that's one thing a lot of our RPs could do with more of - conflict.

Well, I don't think we'd need to nix the last few posts of Search for a Songbird, even if Osprey and I did start a new RPG. After all, the sentient animal city isn't part of the premise of Search for a Songbird: it could just be a location that the protagonists and their terror birds are passing through. (Of course, I wouldn't want them to stay there for the rest of the RPG, because then the two RPs really would feel too similar!)

But, yes, I've really enjoyed The Mother Tree - and rest assured, the rival trio will be showing up again! I'd like them to be villainous without doing anything that makes them truly irredeemable (e.g. murdering anybody). Of course, Beardy has already stolen that beer - but I don't want them doing anything too much worse than that .

Definitely agreed on conflict too. We're starting to get a bit of that to spice up The Butterfly Effect - with Felix getting on Georgia's nerves . Of course, they're both on the same side against the Oxford Wasp, but I expect their personality clashes will make this alliance an uneasy one!

I’d have to come up with posts but I haven’t had any motivation and I feel like I’m slammed with work at school. I’m usually exhausted by the time I get home.

The only time I could reply is if I’m feeling okay or on the weekend. I sometimes don’t even have motivation for art.

The art in my sig? Yeah. It took me 18 days to finish.

Yeah, that does sound tough . I appreciate that some of us have busy lives, and therefore, I don't want to put people under too much pressure.

With that being said: if you're unable to reply quickly, then TBH I think it probably is best if we just start The Bird City as a two-person RP (while I continue Search for a Songbird with Pyrite and Megan). I think there's less pressure to reply quickly in two-person RPs, since you don't have to worry about holding up an entire group (and thus, there's more freedom to move at your own pace).

I think that could work. I honestly wouldn’t be up to doing another role play right now anyway.

Thanks for the feedback ! So, we have two options now:

1) Osprey and I start The Bird City as a private RPG for the two of us (and she pulls out of Search for a Songbird, which will just be me, Pyrite and Megan from that point onwards);
2) The Bird City is scrapped, and all four of us continue Search for a Songbird as-is.

So really, I guess it's up to Detective Osprey what she'd prefer to do .

Sorry I didn't get around to it this past weekend... maybe I will next weekend .
