New RPGs: Ideas/Discussion thread

If you want Marlow to show up I can always dip in and out of an RP as and when it's required!

I do have another character I used to RP in a DnD campaign that I miss using and would love to bring back, but she's very optimised for DnD so I think I'd need a better grasp on how magic works in this universe to adapt her for it.

(Obviously with the main Alseep RPs it works well with just the two of you, but I'm up for doing the side ones)

I did write a brief overview of how magic works - although, I don't know how well your DnD character would fit into that . And if you need more details, I'm sure we could flesh it out some more .

(As for Marlow, if we do ever want him to show up, I'm happy to let you know ! I've been sort of thinking that he eventually ends up marrying Chloe - although, since he's your character, you obviously get veto powers over that - and even if they do get married, you get to decide the names of any children they might have )

Cheers for that - I'll give it a read and see if I can work something out for if there's ever a good point to use her.

Oh I'm not against that idea. Think I would like to see how it plays out though as I don't normally plan future stuff for any of my characters (whether in RPing or writing... ).

I guess I go to the opposite extreme: many of my characters have multiple generations of named characters in their family trees (the most extreme example being Aliana, whose genealogy extends seven generations back !). Granted, many of those characters are just names, with no development whatsoever - but, they exist .

Anyway, I'll try and get this new RPG started in the next couple of days .

Let's see what we can do, then . Maybe one where she's entering some kind of dance competition, with some of her friends? (And possibly some rival/enemy )

Presumably, it'd also feature her going to school and doing stuff there, which might be a good opportunity to flesh out her character a bit more .

I know I said I would start the new RPG "in the next couple of days"... but, I just haven't been able to get around to it . Either I've had things come up, or I just haven't had the energy.

The other day, Opal Fruit came to me, asking if she could join any of the RPGs as a dog character. I had to decline this request (because all the existing RPGs are too far along to accept new characters); however, I said I would be happy to start a new RPG in which she could do that.

One idea was that the dog (and perhaps some other animal companions) could go on adventures together; for example, meeting animals on a farm. I suppose it'd be a little bit like "Not-So-Happy Feet", but featuring a wider range of animals and without the end goal of "returning home to Antarctica": I don't expect it'd involve travelling halfway around the world or anything .

So, would anybody be up for an RPG along these lines - and does anyone have any ideas on how to flesh out the basic concept?

You make my idea sound so sappy.   But really I'm up for a fairly casual, relaxed RPG involvement. I don't have enough interest to get into something really in-depth. (Not that I want it to have no kind of structure at all – a story that progresses somewhat is still necessary. Doesn't even have to be a dog! That was just an example.
