Let's use 'x' to represent the weight of the modern American bison.

Then, if 2 tonnes is 25% more than this, that means it's 1.25 times as much. So:

1.25x = 2
x = 2/1.25 = 8/5 = 1.6 tonnes

So, the living bison weighs 1.6 tonnes :) .

So, how much would a chicken sized T. rex REALLY weigh?

To be honest, this is too vague to be answerable in its current form.

First of all, what aspect of the chicken's size are you referring to? For example, are you asking how much a T. rex would weigh if it was shrunk to the height of a chicken? Secondly, the term "chicken-sized" isn't something I can work with, because chickens vary in size (as did T. rex).

So, can I please have specific heights and weights for both the chicken and the T. rex? I'm happy to help with the mathematical part of the question - but determining the weight of a typical chicken (or a typical T. rex) is biology, not maths.

Actually yes, Tyrannosaurus shrunk to length of chicken.
Most modern estimates of Tyrannosaurus have it be 4 meters tall, 12.3 meters long, and 8 tonnes. The chicken would be ~37 cm tall, 60 cm long, and 3 kg.

OK, thanks :) .

Tyrannosaurus was 12.3m long, and the chicken is 0.6m long, so its size is being reduced by a factor of 12.3/0.6 = 20.5. This means its weight will be reduced by a factor of (20.5)3 = 8615.125. So, the weight of the reduced Tyrannosaurus would be:

8000/8615.125 = 0.929kg (or 929g).

Hope that answers your question :) !

Yes, but I’m still not cradling that chicken sized T. rex.

So…assuming someone had a mole(Avogadro’s number, not the animal) of Zimbabwean money(1980-2009) and that that Zimbabwean dollar is equivalent to $8 billion, how poor would that person be?

Well:

Avogadro's number = 6.02 x 1023
8 billion = 8 x 109

So, if someone has a mole of Zimbabwean dollars, that'd be worth:

6.02 x 1023 / 8 x 109 = 7.525 x 1013 USD.

They'd have about 75 trillion US dollars... they'd still be the richest person in the world, making Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk look like paupers in comparison :lol: .
