Just thought I would start a thread about NASA's planned Mars 2020 rover. (This is not to be confused with the European Space Agency's "ExoMars" rover, now named the Rosalind Franklin rover; that mission has its own thread already!)
As the name suggests, Mars 2020 is a mission which is set to go to Mars, with a planned launch date of July 2020. It'll take around seven months to make the journey - and then, it's expected to land on the Red Planet in February 2021. Once there, it'll search for a range of signs of life on Mars (either past or present), as well as studying the potential for humans to live there one day. If you want to learn more about the mission, you can do that at NASA's official Mars 2020 website, which is here:
https://mars.nasa.gov/mars2020/
So far, it seems that the mission is going well. The rover got its wheels last week - and the robotic arm used to collect rock samples will be next. If all goes well, then testing will be able to begin soon!
Good luck to them
