From this post in the "Metro Systems" thread, I talked about the Glasgow Subway and about its extension that never happened, for the 120 or so years it's been in operation for. Now, from this other post, I mentioned that I've got an idea to extend it to my liking and now, this whole thing has inspired this kind of thread.
For starters, here's the planned "East End Circle" that I also mentioned in the first thread, that SPT had proposed to add but it never came about because of funding, and it really would've benefited those in the areas when it's a known fact that there's poor rail services there. It was to include seven new stations and two of them (Celtic Park and Dalmarnock) would've been ideal for when the 2014 Commonwealth Games were about:
And now just recently, I've came up with my own subway circles, starting with the "West End Circle" I mentioned in that other thread along with two others, serving the south-western and northern parts of the city. You can see them below, including SPT's scrapped idea that I've added in also:
(also see it against Google Maps here, for those that don't know the city)
Supposing if this ever happened, and I doubt it will, this would've benefited the city much more especially when some bus services don't serve certain areas well (such as where I live). I could even nudge SPT about it and perhaps it can come true say like in 2040 maybe but who knows?
I might want to explain some of the stops though, especially of how they'd make things better for anyone:

I might want to explain some of the stops though, especially of how they'd make things better for anyone:
- From the proposed East End Circle, I already mentioned about the two stops earlier but I will say something for Newhall... it would've been an ideal stop for Glasgow Green as it's much nearer. Also St Mungo's for the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis.
- Braehead would be for the Braehead Shopping Centre (now called intu Braehead) and that would be better getting there than taking a bus from Partick and said bus only comes every half hour. For Renfrew, people wouldn't need to use the pedestrian ferry at Yoker to get there and is also the only station to actually outside Glasgow.
- Like for Newhall, Craigton would serve Bellahouston Park well, when Ibrox and Dumbreck railway stations are nowhere near it. Trust me, I've known this from personal experience, even for the latter And speaking of parks, Kirklee would be better access towards the Glasgow Botanic Gardens even though technically, it's at the vicinity of the Kelvin Walkway.
- Because bus/rail links to Springburn are rather limited, the district would now boast three stops to better help with people living around there, with one of them serving the nearby hospital it is named after. And speaking of limited rail links, one can go to Kelvindale subway instead of taking a half-hourly rail service to Queen Street but, from how the map's laid out, it may seem a bit more awkward (as in they'd have to change at Hillhead to get to Buchanan Street, which is nearby).
- Bowfield gets its name from several roads of the same name surrounding it and I was going to call it "Penilee" or "Hillington" originally (although I did think about "Ralston" also). Similarly, Paisley Road West was originally to be "Mossview", once again after a nearby road.
- Finally, Archerhill would be the station serving my area, as I'm cursed with a half-hourly bus service myself. Between it and Braehead, I can get there in just a few minutes without needing to change at Partick bus station 8D
