[Tiger Eyes]

Here is chapter 2.

The next morning, Andi and her father were both up early. She sighed as she worked on making coffee. She glanced to her father and saw he was sitting at the table. “You know, you are welcome to make breakfast. You are the cook in the family.” She teased.
 
 
He chuckled and said, “I know. I just wasn’t sure how it is with you being the wife of a Senator.” Seeing her expression, he grew slightly worried. “I’m sorry, Andi. I know it hasn’t been a full month since James died.”
 
 
“It’s okay. I’m honestly shocked the fact it turned out to be his ex who did it.” She said, shaking her head. It then dawned on her. “I completely forgot you usually make breakfast for the team at work.” Her tone was still teasing.
 
 
He shot her a glance and laughed. “Leave it to you to pick on me about taking care of my team.” He said. His cellphone rang then. He answered it as Andi began making breakfast. “Hello?”
 
 
“Hey Pride, its me.” On the phone was none other than Meredith Brody. “I heard about Chris. I am on my way back for a few days.”
 
 
Hearing Brody say this brought tears to Dwayne Pride’s eyes. “Thanks, Brody. I can’t wait to see you.” He said and then hung up. He looked at his daughter and smiled. “She’s coming back.”
 
 
“That’s good news.” Andi said.
 
 
 
Just then, Adam came hurrying into the kitchen. He glanced to Pride and then shot a questioning look to his stepmother.  “What happened?”
 
 
Andi said, “You remember my dad, don’t you?” She noticed how quickly Adam nodded. Adam, please come to the table. I need to tell you something.”
 
 
Adam came walking over and sat at the table. He sighed and asked, “What’s wrong?”
 
 
Pride sighed softly and said, “Adam, the last case the team had, not everyone made it out.”
 
 
“Chris died, Sweetie.” Andi said to him softly.
 
 
He immediately burst into tears. This broke her heart seeing him so upset. She knew how close those two had become after James died. She reached over to hug him, but he pushed her away and raced up the stairs. Frustrated, she collapsed in a kitchen chair and buried her face in her arms, which were folded on the table. She began sobbing as she kept her face buried.
 
 
Pride sat next to her and looped an arm around her. “I know.” He softly said to her.
 
 
She sat there crying for several minutes, but did eventually calm down.
 
 
 
They managed to get Adam dressed and he was picked up by Laurel, who said she would come later to the office. They got showered and changed before heading into work themselves.
 
 
Pride drove them to work, where they met the others along with a surprise arrival…Brody and Sonya Percy. They both greeted both of them solemnly. Pride disappeared into the kitchen and made coffee and breakfast for everyone while Andi visited with the others.
 
 
“So, Andi.” Percy said, curiously. “Have you decided if you’re back for good?”
 
 
Gregorio looked at her questioningly. “I was wondering the same thing. “You back?”
 
 
“Yeah.” Andi said. “Honestly, both Darcy and Adam have been wanting me to come back for awhile now.” She smiled to herself and then added, “I do have one more thing to do before I do come back though.” She pulled something out of one of her files. She signed it and then showed it to them.
 
 
They exchanged grins when they saw what it was. “Adoption Papers?!” Brody asked, smiling at the younger agent. “You’re adopting Adam and Darcy?!”
 
 
Andi nodded and explained, “Jennifer lost her parental rights so I automatically was given the option of adopting them. I agreed and already spoke to them both. Luke is now four and would love to have two older siblings so why not?”
 
 
“How are you holding up through all of this?” Percy asked. “It has to be pure hell on you.”
 
 
 
“I’m fine.” She said and shrugged.

They had just finished breakfast when Pride received a phone call. All of them looked worried as he finished the call. Andi immediately approached him as she asked, "Dad? What is it?"

Pride sighed as he placed his cellphone down on his desk. He whirled around and made eye contact with her. "Andi, something has happened...to Luke." He hesitantly said to his daughter.

"What?!" She quickly asked. Her voice now thick with emotion. "Is he okay?"

"Someone broke into your mother's house and he was abducted. We aren't sure exactly who did it yet." He admitted.

Her mind seemed to overload and she fainted in his arms.


The others watched helplessly as Pride scooped her up and hurried her up the stairs to the second floor. He then hurried her to his own room and laid her down on a bed. He returned a few minutes later to the others. He was now angry. "I want my grandson found." He ordered them.

They immediately nodded and they all got to work. The FBI was also called and Percy ordered an AMBER Alert be issued for Luke.

#1 is called Close Call.

Summary: Mace sends a team consisting of Daisy, Coulson, and Fitz-Simmons to a site to disable a bomb and get civilians out before it goes off but things don’t always go according to plan. Will they all get out in time? Oh yeah. May is part of the team too.

“How is it coming?” Director Jeffrey Mace asked over his COMM to his team. He had sent them to a warehouse in Los Angeles not far from the pier. It housed intel as well as several boxes of weapons. He sighed as he waited for the team’s leader, Phil Coulson to answer. “Phil?”

 

 
“Hang on!” Phil snapped at him. “We ran into a problem. There’s a bomb and it only has a minute and a half til it blows. Daisy and May are trying to get the Civilians out, while Fitz-Simmons works at trying to disable the bomb.” He sighed before asking Fitz, “Any luck?”

 

 
“Nothing’s working. I don’t know what else to do.” Fitz answered in a frustrated tone. He placed a calming hand on the shoulder of his best friend, Jemma Simmons and added, “It gets down to a minute and I want you out of here.”

 

 
“We go together or not at all.” Was her immediate reply.

 

 
He nodded. “All right.” He glanced at the timer and it read, “Damn it! It’s down to 45 seconds!”

 

 
“Get out of there! Now!” Mace shouted.

 

 
Looking worriedly at his team, Coulson quickly shouted, “You heard him! Let’s go!” He ushered Fitz and Simmons out with him right behind them. Several minutes later May raced outside as well. “Where’s Daisy?”

 

 

 
Daisy had heard a little girl scream for help so she went back to get her. She had been pinned under a box of weapons. She managed to get the little girl out just seconds before it blew from the other door on the opposite end of the warehouse where her team couldn’t see her.

 

 
“DAISY!” Coulson shouted as the warehouse blew to pieces. His face showed a mixture of shock. He glanced around the corner at a figure handing a little girl off to a paramedic and he sighed from relief. “Daisy?!”

 

 
She looked at him and waved. This brought a sigh of relief from the others as well. He hurried over and said. “You scared the hell out of us.”

 

 
“Sorry. That little girl was trapped under some boxes so I rescued her before the warehouse blew.” She explained. She then added as May also came over, “I didn’t want her to be killed.”

 

 
“You okay?” May asked her worriedly.

 

 
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Daisy said as she accepted the hug her S.O. offered. “Director, I’m fine.”

 

 
“Good job saving that little girl, Agent Johnson.” Mace said with pride.

 

 
“Thank you, Sir.” She said and grinned back proudly at the others.

 

 
“Next time give me a heads-up so we don’t worry.” Coulson said, firmly. He then grinned proudly and added in a softer tone, “I’m proud of you.”

 

 
Daisy grinned, now looking tired and said, “Thanks.” She accepted his hug then too and sighed from relief. She was shaking slightly due to how close of a call it really was.

 

 
“You sure you’re okay?” He softly asked her. He was still holding her. He saw her nod, which made him relax a little.

 

 
The team then headed back to their base to prepare for the next mission.

Daisy watched as the man she thought she was supposed to save turned his head away and took his final breath. It deep inside broke her heart as she laid there on the ground of the roof. A lump formed in her throat remembering the one thing she had her heart set on to do failed. “I really thought I was meant to save you.” She muttered and coughed. Her body was so exhausted she finally gave into it and passed out. She felt herself being lifted up in a pair of strong arms and carried to where they were to meet their transport.

 

 
When she woke up, she saw she was face to face with Coulson and back at their base.

 

 
“Hey. You gave us all a scare there.” Coulson softly said to her. You scared the hell out of me. He was thinking as he watched her on the cot.

 

 
She sighed and nodded. “I’m sorry.” She groaned from pain just then. “Aren’t you in the middle of running this bandwagon?” Her tone was teasing which forced a grin escape from him and a soft chuckle. She smiled weakly back.

 

 
“I wanted to make sure you were all right.” He said. He sighed and added, “You scared the hell out of me.”

 

 
“I know.” She said and let out a soft groan from pain.

 

 
Coulson heard her groan and asked, “You sure you’re okay?”

 

 
Daisy nodded and said, “Yeah, but I might be needing a few days off to recuperate.” She shot him a smile when she saw his nod and grin in her direction.

 

 
“Get some rest. I’ll stop by later to check on you.” He said. He then turned and walked off toward his office.

 

 
She closed her eyes and drifted painfully off to sleep.

Hey Guys! I know its been awhile but I have some new story ideas to show off. I will be working on these when I have time so be on the lookout for them.

I will be making a final announcement about something I have been struggling with later so stay tuned for that!
 

1. The New Girl: Jessica becomes incredibly busy with cheerleading, so Megan is more than thrilled when new girl, Ariel Maloney arrives in school. Shauna uses this to form a wedge between the two BFFs by lying and manipulating Jessica.
   
2. Party Time: Serena Martinez gets the house to herself after her parents go out of town for the weekend, so she invites everyone over for a party. Things quickly get out of hand when a few of the party animals bring alcohol. This quickly begins causing mounds of trouble, which leads to unexpected consequences for the inner circle.
   
3. Aftermath: The school is in an uproar following the accident which left several teens dead and one part of the inner circle. Can they come to terms with the new guidelines which they are forced to now live by? Meanwhile, Serena is having difficulty in accepting responsibility for the deaths of her friends, so she runs away. Megan is accused of being one of the drinkers since she was acting a little off at the party(due to a Diabetic Low), and has to explain to the others the truth while revealing her illness to her friends.

It was close to two in the afternoon when I arrived at the public pool. I waited outside the front gate for my close friend, Adam Derrickson and his sisters, Cali and Marnie. We had been coming each day to the pool to get through the summer and have some fun. I grinned when I spotted their aunt’s car pull into the parking lot. I smiled as all three of them exited the car and their aunt sped off.
 
I glanced to Adam, who quickly said, “Keri has to get to work.” He walked ahead of us a little.
 
I turned to Cali, who was now standing next to me. “She’s running late as usual.” I nodded and the three of us hurried inside.
 
Marnie went to catch up with some friends while Adam, Cali and I searched for a spot to put our stuff. We found our regular spot unclaimed, so we stashed our stuff there and then prepared to get in the pool.
 
Who am I? You might be asking. I am Kaitlin Davenport. I am eighteen and about to start my senior year at Roaring Springs High School. I am the oldest of the four of us. I have been staying with my sister, Elena and her two kids, Jacen and Nicole. The reason for this is because my father is in the Army and he is stationed in other state. I would be staying with them until the school year begins. My mom is with him and has a job on the base.
 
I was shaken from my thoughts by the lifeguard’s whistle. We all then got in the water. We had a lot of fun through the day. It didn’t even occur to me that I had forgotten to apply sunblock before I got in the pool. We all got out at break time, but I was reminded by Adam that because I was actually 18 and an adult, I didn’t have to get out of the water. I got a quick drink of soda and then got back in the water. It wasn’t long after they joined me back in the pool.
 
The three of us went over to the deep end for awhile and did somersaults and stuff. It was a lot of fun. We even took turns every once in awhile and jumped off the diving boards. That was even more fun. After a while, we moved back over to the four feet area and did a little swimming.
 
We were all feeling a little gutsy by that time, so Cali dared me to do a somersault over the rope in the four feet area. I have no idea why, but I really thought I could do it. I took a deep breath and then held it while I made the attempt. I couldn’t get my body to go in the tuck position and I wound up going headfirst down and smacked my head off the floor of the pool at top speed. I had knocked myself unconscious.
 
Both Cali and Adam had seen what happened. No lifeguard had, so Cali quickly jumped in and pulled me out of the pool. By the time she got me out, a lifeguard finally noticed something had happened and asked if I was all right. I couldn’t answer right away because I was still coughing up water.
 
“Are you okay?” The Lifeguard asked again.
 
“I’m fine.” I said, even though I knew I wasn’t.
 
“Are you really?” Adam asked me. I shook my head. “I think we better call your sister and have her come get you.
 
“Her and her kids went out for the day on their own. I am supposed to just walk over to the apartment after I leave here.” I said.
 
“You can barely stand, Kaitlin!” Adam exclaimed. This got several looks from people.
 
Marnie caught up with us after she had heard what happened. She called her aunt and then said, “Keri said she could take you home, but you do have to let your sister know what happened…and your parents.”
 
I nodded. I knew that was coming.
 
Keri arrived several minutes later. I was a little sick to my stomach but not too bad just then.
 
That evening while I was sitting in the living room watching TV, Elena walked in with Nicole and Jacen. Keri had called her somehow. Elena quickly asked me, “Are you okay? I heard about what happened.”
 
I’m fine. Just a little tired.” I said.
 
“You sure?” She asked as both kids hurried up the stairs to their bedroom.
 
“I’m fine, Elena.” I assured her.
 
“I spoke to Mom. You aren’t to go back there for a few days.” My sister ordered me.
 
I nodded an okay. I honestly wanted to sleep for a few days anyway.
 
It took a good week before I finally went back to the pool. I never tried to do a stupid stunt like that again. I had learned my lesson.
 
The only problem is that it awakened a fear I thought I had already conquered. I couldn’t deal with trying another stunt like jumping off the diving board.
