World's insects could be wiped out 'within a century' as scientists warn they are dying out eight times faster than mammals. Insects are dying out eight-times faster than mammals, birds and reptiles. A study suggests that insects could become extinct in 100 years at this rate. The decline, described as a worldwide crisis, is blamed on intensive agriculture. Imagine if 100 yrs from now there'd be no insects? Do you know how weird that would be? I mean imagine trying to explain to some one in a 100 years what a butterfly, or preying mantis is. They'd have no clue since there would be no such thing.
