The one for the computer I share with my family is one of those Gigabyte gaming ones I believe. It’s not dirt cheap but it isn’t crazy expensive. The one for my laptop is one I found on Amazon. I forgot the brand but it isn’t anything fancy. It glows rainbow though, as does my mouse. The initial keyboard that I got for my laptop had an extra column for shortcuts on the far left side, which made typing really annoying because I taught myself to unconventionally touch type. Therefore, I bought my current one but I didn’t want to settle for something too boring. The only slight problem is that there isn’t as much wrist support on the current keyboard.
The reason I have a keyboard for my laptop is because it’s constantly at a desk. For ages, I used to just use the keyboard that was built in. I’ve had previous laptops that have had keys break off when I haven’t looked after them properly. However, as this laptop cost £650 and I’m older now, I have more awareness and consideration. Once I started playing more videogames on it, Stardew Valley in particular, I was constantly pressing WASD for movement. I’ve wracked up a lot of hours on that game and it’s easier to play with an external keyboard. I did feel some wear on those keys also, which also influenced my decision, but they’re still functional. I only ever use the built-in keyboard if I take my laptop upstairs on a seldom basis.
Since we are on the subject of Mice, I have a Logitech G502 (OG before they rebranded the 502 so a pre 502 Core), a G502 Hero, and a G903 with the recharging mat, all three are in my office area for my three computers (work desktop, gaming desktop, laptop serving as file server now), the recharging map is large enough for me to keep and use my three mice on it.
Do you know what type of keyboard you use for your laptop?
Oh and my dad has an old Dell AT101 which has the rare Alps switch, I hope to get it one day.
