Jane blushed happily, as she gladly returned the kiss - and, the two of them spent the rest of the day there, exchanging romantic gestures and enjoying each other's company, until the sun fell and the time came for Tom to return home.
Over the following years, Tom's relationship with his father slowly improved. The two of them began to respect one another - and, over the next seven years, the king worked tirelessly to train his son in the art of rulership. On his eventual passing, his crown passed to Tom - and, a year or two later, he and Jane were married in a grand and extravagant ceremony. Their marriage continued to flourish over the coming years: Queen Jane produced a succession of increasingly impressive gifts for King Thomas, until finally, she gave him the greatest gift of all: twin sons named Kyle and Jake. Sadly, Jane soon fell down the rabbit hole of dark magic, taking Jake with her - and, in this sick and twisted state, the two of them began using Kyle as a test subject for their cruel experiments. In the end, the marriage fell apart after the twins' 13th birthday: Tom went missing and was presumed dead; Jane and Jake fled the castle; and Kyle was forced to sleep for five years.
Alexis and Diane, too, enjoyed a happy and love-filled relationship for the next few years. The plan was that they would leave New Atlantis, and purchase a cottage on the bed of the nearby ocean, as soon as they could afford to do so. Unfortunately for them, this never happened: Alexis's once-calm personality became wilder with age, and the two of them began to grow apart. In the end, they realised that things were no longer working out - and they went their separate ways, with Alexis setting up his own band, and Diane starting her own bakery. Still, they remained close friends - so, Alexis would regularly visit Diane's new food outlet, while she would often attend his live concerts. In the end, Alexis's career petered out with age - although, he did marry a fan called Helena, and they had two children together. As for Diane, she never married; however, she rose to become the head chef within New Atlantis.
Against everyone's expectations, it was Nestor - that clumsy idiot who never seemed to amount to much - who had the most successful life of all. It got off to a slow start: he didn't get married for another ten years, and even then, his wife Cassandra only agreed to it because she felt sorry for him. However, they soon acquired a genuine love for one another - which soon brought three children, by the names of Lysander, Aliana and Meriandra. Now that he was both a duke and a father, Nestor swiftly grew out of his childish ways - and his firm discipline led him to rebuild the navy of New Atlantis, to a level of prowess not seen in over a century. Now, he is due to abdicate the throne of one of his daughters - in the hopes that she can do him proud, and continue the legacy that she has established.
