And now, I've seen another of these - because I saw Princess Mononoke on Sunday :D .

I have to admit, it wasn't quite what I expected :P . Going in, I was expecting San to be the protagonist, and I thought it was going to be set mainly in the woods, and focus on her survival skills and relationship with the wolves and other animals. But instead, Ashitaka was the main character, and he and his village received at least as much focus as San and her forest. However, that's certainly not a complaint: if anything, the story we got was better than the story I was expecting  . I really liked the "Nature vs. Civilization" angle - and how neither side was presented as 100% good, nor as 100% evil - but instead, they came into conflict over differing goals and lack of understanding of one another. It honestly felt more realistic and relatable than those movies and TV shows that have a totally clear, black-and-white 'hero' and 'villain' :P .

On the whole, it was probably my favourite Ghibli movie so far :D .

I liked it for those same reasons!
Also, I’d like to see an American Revolution animated film with a story similar to Princess Mononoke.

Yeah, I think that could be interesting if done well. Doesn't necessarily have to be Studio Ghibli who make it - but I suppose they'd be as good as anybody!

My Neighbor Totoro has made its debut at the Barbican. And it seems it's been a great success: it sold out its entire run prior to opening, and it's received some good reviews:

I'm glad to see it's been so successful - and perhaps it'll pave the way for other Ghibli stage adaptations!

Well, I hope it also gets shown somewhere nearer to you, so that you get a chance!

The next movie is going to be How do you Live? adapted from a book…that I can’t read because it’s not available in my homeland!

Sounds good :) . Just reading about the film now, the animation work apparently started all the way back in July 2016, so it sounds as though a lot of effort has been put into it!

Let's just hope it was worth it :) .
