Okay, we had a thread about this on the old board, but the content is largely written from the point of view of it being an upcoming game, so I won't re-post that .
This thread is about Frontier Developments' Jurassic World: Evolution, which was released in June this year for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It's effectively what it says on the tin: it's Jurassic Park in game form . You're sent to the fictional Central American island of Isla Nublar (where the series is set), and expected to build a five-star dinosaur park there. Along the way, you'll have to deal with various challenges, including power failures, unpredictable weather, and - of course - dinosaur breakouts!
The initial reviews were fairly mixed: they praised the quality of the graphics and the dinosaur models; however, they were less enthusiastic about the strategic gameplay itself. Nonetheless, it sold well: by five weeks after its release, it had sold over a million copies across various platforms.
Myself, I wanted to get this for my birthday, but I was scared off by the reviews and the high price tag. However, I just saw it at 75% off in the Steam Winter Sale: at that price, I decided it was worth picking up. Once I've played it, I'll let you guys know what I think !
