I've been a Swiftie for years now. :D This amazing woman needs her own thread.

Her music has helped me get through some rough timee, like dealing with the break-up with my lousy ex boyfriend. And her songs have cheered me uo when I'm feeling sad.

I've been following her career ever since 2010. I adore the Red album, and the Tortued Poets album. I own copies of all her CDs.

I love her music too! I think I became a fan roughly in 2012, I remember people singing ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’ when we were at school. My favourite album is probably ‘Red’ so you can imagine how I felt when the 10 minute ‘All Too Well’ song dropped.

I wouldn't consider myself to be a fan of Taylor Swift (or pop music in general!), but there are a couple of things I like and respect about her:

  1. She never went down the "overly sexualised" route, that's become all too common these days. That's not to say that all her lyrics are entirely clean, of course - but she never made sexually-explicit lyrics into her entire brand, in the way that a lot of artists seem to do as soon as they turn 18 -_- .

  2. All the charity stuff that she does (like the donations to food banks and hurricane relief efforts).

I don't follow her at all and am curious how it is she's got so popular! Fair enough to people who like her and her music, but it's not something I'm about to get into. (I don't really follow modern music.)

I feel like her political neutrality works in her favour. I feel like her opinions and views are supportive of marginalised communities but not in a way that turns off other people.

I also feel like she is able to adapt her music and what she offers based on what is in the market. It means that little girls, women and gays can enjoy her music. I do feel like her audience is mostly children, women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community… which is great!

She makes great music :) you need to calm down is one of my top favourites, since I am a member of the lgbtq community and thus relate a lot to it🎀
