Moar flags. Looking at Europe this time, minus the NCIS (aside from Finland)
Iceland
No change.
Faeroe Islands
Promoted to national flag. Hasn't changed a bit. Whee.
Ireland
No change.
Northern Ireland
Since (as indicated in an earlier post) Northern Ireland now has control of all of Ulster, and since it is a republic, it has reverted to the use of the old flag of Ulster County.
England
No change.
Wales
No change.
Scotland
No change.
Nordland
Simply takes the Norwegian flag and superimposes the Swedish cross over it, while darkening the shade of blue of the Norwegian cross. The official explanation is that the white represents Denmark, the blue represents Norway, and the yellow represents Sweden.
Finland
No change.
Poland
No change.
Slovakia
Czechia/Czech Republic
No change.
Hungary
No change.
Romania
No change.
Bulgaria
No change.
Cyprus
Now the flag of the whole island as recognised by everyone except Turkey, including Northern Cyprus itself. Not actually changed though. And no need for one of Chris' "obligatory Cyprus rants!"
Greece
No change.
North Macedonia
No change. Not readopted until redeclaration of independence.
Albania
No change.
Kosovo
The shield is basically an inversion of the Albanian flag, with the pan-Albanian colours in stripes in the background.
Montenegro
No change.
Bosnia and Hercegovina:
No change.
Serbia
No change.
Vojvodina
This one's a merger of the base of the traditional Vojvodinian flag and the new coat of arms.
Croatia
No change.
Slovenia
No change.
Italy
No change.
Vatican City
No change. Crap, it remained this way even through the Robertian Era when under the control of Rebel Virginia!
Austro-Bavaria
I wanted to do a fusion flag, but I also did away with the lozenge design of the Bavarian flag, which would have been a pain in the backside to actually implement! Still, it uses the colours of both Austria and Bavaria.
Switzerland
No change. The flag is still a big plus.
Germany
No change.
Netherlands
No change.
Luxembourg
No change.
France
Unchanged.
Catalonia
The Catalonians opted to use the sovereigntist flag rather than the old Spanish community flag.
Aragon
Whereas the Aragonese decided to use the old community flag, what with being a monarchy and all.
Castille
And Castille settled on Castilla y León's flag.
Gibraltar
No change. But man oh man does seeing this flag drive Castillian irredentists crazy!
Malta
No change.
Portugal
No change.
Galicia
The crown was removed from the community flag, since Galicia is a republic in this timeline. Everything else is the same.
Asturias
Community flag, yet again.
Euskadi
Not surprisingly, Euskadi went with the ikurrina.
ROUND 2 OVER, TRANSCAUCASIA AND GERMANY RELEGATED
The second round robin phase is over.
A resurgent Uralica took all five games in their group to claim first place in Group C, although the game against Canada went to a shootout. Canada, Finland, and the New USA (in that order) are also off to the playoffs, while Siberia and Dakota are into the repechage round. As for Group D, Russia defeated hometown Nordland to grab the top spot from this group, with Ural-Altai and Baltika taking the other two spots. Czechia and Switzerland go to repechage.
As for the relegation round, not even Leon Draisatl could save the Germans from relegation, and it is still "very possible" that Slovene goalie Zdravko Vidovič could take the prize for top goalie even though his team almost got relegated! The key game was Slovenia's 2-0 shutout of Germany, which saw Vidovič make fifty - yes, fifty - saves versus Thomas Greiss' 20 and take team's player of the game honours (which he did in all but one of Slovenia's games to this point). The 18-year-old is making a very strong case for being drafted this year! Germany did have the consolation of beating Transcaucasia 5-2, but it wasn't particularly large. Slovakia had a bittersweet ending to the lengthy career of Zdeno Chara, as the 43-year-old is retiring from international hockey after this tournament, but Slovakia's 6-0 win over Transcaucasia was a good last hurrah for the big man. Officially speaking, Slovakia finishes 13th and Slovenia 14th.
Now the schedule for the last days of the tournament:
