Henry VIII

Abilities: >average physical abilities, sheer mass, generalship, charisma, horsemanship, marksmanship, swordsmanship
Takeda Shingen

The Tiger of Kai was just your average samurai until he rose up to become one of Japan’s most bloodthirsty and powerful warlords!
Abilities: >average physical abilities, generalship, charisma, horsemanship, marksmanship, archery, and swordsmanship

Both get an army of 100,000 with unit composition accounting for historical accuracy. Both sides can regroup if needed but see each other as a threat.

Basically this would be the 16th century equivalent of Knight vs Samurai.

This should get...interesting responses.

These two amazingly coexisted-sorta as Takeda Shingen had only just taken power for a few years by Henry's death.

I’ll be surprised to see anyone backing Henry.

OK, before I answer: what were the main differences between their armies?

Since it's 100,000 vs. 100,000, I think the differences in army composition are more likely to be decisive than any difference between the leaders' skills and attributes.

Well, bet you didn't know Henry VIII was a general too. He participated in several Italian Wars and even had dreams of becoming a jouster. Still, Takeda Shingen is legendarily known as the "Tiger of Kai" and he didn't get it by buying a collection of tiger plushies. As for their armies...
Henry VIII brings at Heaven's Command:
Henry himself is armed with a Henry's walking stick(mace/blaster hybrid) and an early sabre. His armor is the Greenwich harness.
Heavy infantrymen-Armed with polearms such as billhooks, halberds, pikes, etc., broadswords, and battleaxes. Wore partial plate armor.
Musketeers-Armed with the matchlock with long knives as backup and maybe grenades. Wore cloth uniforms...ok.
Knights-Armed with lances and carbines with longswords, broadswords, warhammers, and battleaxes as backup. Wore full plate.
Yeoman archers-Armed with English longbows with swords for backup. Delicately armored in gambeson at most.
Yeomen of the Guard-Personal guard of King Henry. They were armed with partisans, arquebuses, pistol shields, and English longbows with broadswords for backup. They are most recognizable in cloth doublets but may have worn armor while in battle.
Takeda Shingen unleashes a ROAR with:
Shingen himself is armed and armored like other samurai; Tosei Gusoku, a Yari of some sort, katana, and for him, a Tessen(iron war fan.)
Samurai-Armed with either a Yumi war bow, Tanegashima arquebus, Bajo-zutsu carbine, some sort of Yari such as Kama yari, Su yari, Nagae yari, Jumonji yari, etc., kanabo, or Naginata and a katana for backup. Armored in Tosei gosuko.
Ashigaru-Armed with either a Yumi, Tanegashima, some sort of Yari, Naginata, or Kanabo with a katana for backup. Armored in lamellar armor.
Both sides also get cannons.
