2024 Paris Olympics

Fair effort from Australia with such a small population compared to many others.

When did it become the norm by the way for female athletes to literally show bare bums? I know it's much the same on the beaches these days but water polo, beach volleyball, divers, even some runners showing full butt cheeks?

When Serena Williams made it popular.

Not only was it dull and boring, way too many long periods if time of not much or very little happeninng, some poor music choices, poor acts.

I have to say the mockery of the Last Supper in the opening ceremony was utterly and tuly abhorrent to me. It was disrespectful for them to bash a religion like that.

The Olympics are supposed to be about bringing people together and uniting the world, instead the organisers thought it was alright to mock a group of people.

Shame on the organisers of the opening ceramony.

I've merged this into the main thread about the 2024 Paris Olympics, since the opening ceremony was already being discussed there (and TBH, I don't think it needs a specific thread, especially now that it took place two months ago).

I have to admit that I completely missed the mockery of the Last Supper myself - probably because the ceremony as a whole wasn't holding my attention  . But I do agree that it was disrespectful, and I'm glad that there was an apology in the end :) .
