One day until Paris welcomes the world to its famed city for the sporting event of events.

The Olympic Games, which originated in ancient Greece as many as 3,000 years ago, were revived in the late 19th century and have become the world’s preeminent sporting competition. From the 8th century B.C. to the 4th century A.D., the Games were held every four years in Olympia, located in the western Peloponnese peninsula, in honor of the god Zeus. The first modern Olympics took place in 1896 in Athens, and featured 280 participants from 12 nations, competing in 43 events. Since 1994, the Summer and Winter Olympic Games have been held separately and have alternated every two years. The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024, in Paris, France, with some events, including handball, rugby and soccer matches, taking place before the opening ceremony.

The French have already shown how completely unprepared they were to host such an event.

BTW, I've removed the 'Creator' prefix, because that's intended for threads about content creators, like YouTubers and Twitch streamers (as explained in the Thread Prefix Guide). I hope that makes sense :) .

But, back to the Olympics themselves: I'm looking forward to it :D . I'm not expecting the same level of success that we enjoyed in 2012 or 2016, or even 2020 (because most of those athletes are now retired, or soon will be) - but, I'm hoping we can get a reasonable haul of medals!

To be honest, I don't know all of them that well: there are a lot of sports that I don't follow :P .

But, if any of them win medals, then I'll be sure to post them here :) !

Are there any French members.
How about members from other nations who'd like to participate.

No delete function with the software?

Unable to post my team?

I'm not aware of any French members, sadly :( .

I did find a complete list of all of Team GB's athletes, which you can look at if you're interested :) :

If you have a similar page for Australia, you should be able to link to it here, using the 'URL' button:

Hope that helps :) !

Just fixed it for you :) .

[url] tags on here don't have an 'unfurl' attribute (I think that's just a XenForo feature) - but, they should work if you leave the "unfurl=true" out :) .

No Naomi Folkard on the women's archery team this time, eh? She's been to at least three Games before. She's my third cousin once-removed. :P
