2025 F1 driver line-up

I think Mercedes should've signed Carlos Sainz. Sainz has lots of experience in F1, has gotten several great results for Ferrari over the last few years, is a great driver. and doesn't cause problems with teammates. Him and Russell could've been a great team.

I can definitely see Kevin Magnussen leaving the grid next season. Other than a few good drives last season and this season, he's struggled consistently and has been completely outperformed by team-mate Nico Hulkenberg. Logan Sargent will definitely be off the grid. in every single race and qualifying session (minus a few) he's been completely and utterly outperformed by his team-mate Alex Albon. Alex scored 27 points last year, whereas Sargent only scored 1. Meanwhile this season Alex has scored 4, compared to Logan's 0 points.

It's official - Williams have sacked Logan Sargeant:

https://www.independent.co.uk/f1/f1-will...02518.html

He'll be replaced by Franco Colapinto - who becomes Argentina's first F1 driver since Gastón Mazzacane in 2001.

Congrats to him, but - that came out of nowhere :O . I'll be interested to see how he does!

IMO, Williams made the right decision to sack Logan. He's had plenty of chances and time to get points, but has failed to deliver. He's struggled badly in F1 and hasn't been able to adapt. Alex Albon has outperformed him massively in all but a few races and qualifying sessions.

Yeah, it was the most lopsided team-mate match-up on the grid TBH.

Although, I was a bit surprised they went for such an unknown, rather than Liam Lawson or Mick Schumacher. (Indeed, it's possible that this has killed of Mick's career, as well as Logan's :( !)

Indeed, it's definitely the most lopsided. And yeah, I think both Mick and Logan's career in F1 is now almost over.

I imagine Red bull blocked Lawson getting a drive at Williams, because they were worried to would take points from RB to Williams. And I imagine they want to keep Lawson as a potential driver to RB. It's a shame Lawson doesn't have a seat yet, since he did a great job when he got a chance last season.

Yeah, that might be why they didn't hire Liam Lawson.

Still, I do hope he gets an F1 seat soon. He did a great job last year, but that feels like a long time ago now. If he wants to get an F1 drive on the back of that, he'll need to do it before that performance fades from memory!

I think Liam Lawson will replace Daniel Ricciardo at RB next season. He's been outperformed by Tsunoda a lot of the time, and he's struggled to put in much consistency. He has had a few spectacular drives and moments this season, but he just hasn't performed consistently for years now.
I think he'd make a great pundit or ambassador for the sport, though. So, hopefully channel 4 or Sky will hire him as a pundit once he leaves the grid. :)

Well, my prediction was correct, RB have released Ricciardo, and will be replacing him with Liam Lawson for the remainder of the season:

https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/artic...sxpPrbqxX0

This is probably one of the worst handled departure announcements in F1 history. RB could've at least announced it prior to the Singapore Grand Prix, then he could've had a chance to have gotten a proper farewell from everyone. The way RB handled this departure shows a lack of respect towards Daniel from them. He deserved a proper farewell.

Yeah, definitely agreed there.

I understand replacing him - because, sadly, he just hasn't been performing. But given that he's so popular, and he was once one of the top drivers, I think he at least deserved a proper send-off!
