Interestingly, people in different countries and different upbringings hold their forks in different hands. Some people believe that you should always have your fork in your left hand if you are right handed while others think it makes more sense to only have a fork in your left hand if you are cutting food. Both make sense depending on who you are.
Personally, I was never raised to hold my fork in any way so I naturally held it in my right hand as that’s my dominant hand. However, that makes cutting food a lot harder. Only recently, I realised and was told that in England, we’re meant to hold our forks in our left hands always. Now, I will swap hands if I am cutting a steak or something then switch back. People here that have seen me eat probably think I am so weird but I didn’t know about it for most of my life. I also hold my pencil weird but that’s another story.
