There are two deaths that depress me in the final book near the end. That's all I'm saying. You definitely should get round to finishing it.

Okay.  I won't ask who they are and I appreciate the fact that you didn't reveal that to me.  I want to read the book and be surprised.  I may see if I can read that next when I'm finished with my current book.

Haha, one of them broke my heart as well as they were one of my favourite characters. You'll still be surprised. Let me know your thoughts when you read it.

I've watched the movies and read the books and. . . . I like them both, but I hate the ending. It felt rushed and not right to me - Plus unnecessary deaths. I also found the writing in the books to be a little eh but it didn't detract too much from the experience for me. I do adore the plot, as creepy as it is, and while I don't understand what all the major fuss was about I did enjoy them.

I think that like you said, the actual plot was amazing. Dystopian novels fun. I thought that the writing style was pretty good but I read it when I was 12 so maybe if I read it again now, I’d have different thoughts about it. The ending, however, I can agree with. Although there was a nice twist, everything happened so quickly at the end of Mockingjay. Two of the deaths shock me as well but I guess I’ll just view it as being symbolic to the consequences of war.

In regards to the movies, I think the cast were phenomenal.

I'm in the process of reading Mockingjay right now.  I've gotten through parts 1 and 2, I just have to get through part 3 and I'm done.  I'll let you know when I'm finished.

I plan on binge watching the movies once I've finished.

Aye. That’s great that you picked it up again. I kind of want to watch the movies as I haven’t read the books since 2012 or 2013...

I’m excited for this prequel book. They released the release date and book title, which is ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ releases in May 2020. I’ll definitely be buying this as I have been a long-term The Hunger Games fan. Hopefully this book will do the rest of the series justice.
