How to Learn?
#1
I'm not very smart and don't know much. I also tend to not have the patience to really practice and learn something if I don't learn it fast. What's an efficient way to learn things?

I've always been a good visual learner... maybe that's why I enjoy educational YouTube videos so much :D .

It's especially helpful if I can find a channel like Kurzgesagt, that gives brief, non-technical introductions in a manner that's easy for a layperson to understand. Then, if a particular subject interests me, I can find a weightier channel that goes into more depth about that specific subject (like Isaac Arthur for science and futurism, for example :P ).

I’ve always been more of a visual learner too. Usually if someone shows me something a few times I’m mostly fine with doing it myself.

I can learn like just by reading and listening too but I don’t always catch on as fast there. But depends on what it is I guess.

I don't know if I'd necessarily say I'm a visual or hands on learner. I also always got easily bored in class so maybe not audio either.

Well, if seeing, listening, and doing all fail, I guess there's always the way that guinea pigs learn: by eating  !

This might be a weird recommendation but hear me out. Whilst I have a good memory and am quite good at learning in an academic sense, whenever I come across a subject I don't enjoy or understand, or something I find a bit complicated, I will often create a song about it to help me remember. Usually it ends up being some kind of parody of an existing song. It worked a treat when I was revising for polymer chemistry exams!

While that's weird, I do think it's a useful memory aid! A song is certainly going to be more memorable than a simple list of facts :P .

Sadly, I don't think my songwriting skills are good enough to make much use of it!

Categorization is for dinosaurs and not learning styles so just any means possible.

For me reading and trying not over complicate something with notes helps. Especially reading first time then writing notes or doing a bullet point list.

Agreed that bullet point summaries can be really useful. I think it's good to go over a text a few times to properly pick out the key information.

My note-taking style is a bit drawn out really but it is basically starting by copying everything down word for word, then simplifying on the next copy. It helps the important parts sink in.
