RESULTS, EWA UPRISING, 25 OCTOBER 2023, CALGARY, ALBERTA- Hokkaido Harrier def. Marko Zarragoitía by pinfall.
- 2Kold arrives to a large pop! Their wives/sisters (remember, Sebastian and JP married each other's sisters!) give them the news that the booked main event is for the TV Title, which annoys Sebastian and has JP scratching his head. "Who the hell is Kika facing that it's gonna be the main event?"
- Mariah Gerhardt def. Rosa Pathakos by submission.
- Rhoda Gálavez def. Gaill McIntyre by pinfall.
- Dominik Alexandros and Grigor Zagorakis have a discussion about what they should do next after Dominik's failed EWA Title bid, and come to the conclusion that they should pursue the Tag Team Championships.
- Gylych Turesbekov def. Dok by pinfall, in spite of attempted interference by Jack Smith.
- Ruth Chisiza def. Akiko Sakaki (pc) by pinfall to win the EWA Women's TV Title! (Sixth reign) Chisiza was just too strong for Sakaki.
- The Djinn def. Alec Dundas by pinfall
- Mattias Vlahos comes out and cuts a promo on all of his would-be challengers, having with him a spinning wheel with various names on it. "Really, for those who aren't in the Hardcore Triptych, with the form I've been on, if you think you have a chance in hell, you're an idiot. Sebastian Brown? Idiot. Natane Huboka? Idiot. Minas Tenkerian? Idiot. Marko Myllyjärvi? Idiot. Demitros Lavriakis? Idiot. Tris Marks? MAJOR idiot. Nik Bogdanovič... ehh... possible exception. But y'all know how it is. Idiots here, idiots there..." And the fans finished "...idiots idiots everywhere!" "Damn, you're catching on! In any case, I'm putting my strap on the line tonight. I'm gonna save Nik for Advent because he deserves it the most. So he's not on the wheel. Let's see which idiot I get to face tonight!" And he spun the wheel. "Well, ride a painted pony! The spinning wheel has spun and we got ourselves a humdinger! Get your ass out here, Tristan! Death is at your door, knocking loudly!"
- Mattias Vlahos © def. Tris Marks by pinfall to retain the EWA Hardcore Championship. He was a little irked by the interference by The Separatists but Tris was already busted open by the time they got out, and Death Incarnate eventually put him through a flaming table anyway, using his patented Death's Sickle. 1-2-3.
- Kaélos Pathakos is approached by his twin brother, Georgios, who really wants to know who Kika is facing in the main event. Kaélos' response is worrying. "Officially speaking, I don't know. But I'm pretty sure I know who it is. And if I'm right, I'm gonna need all the help I can get." Georgios scoffs at this. "Dude, you've been nothing but a prick to the rest of your family for the last year plus! I don't care if it's Dean Chapman! You're on your own! And if it's him, I'm pretty sure I know why! It certainly doesn't help matters that you were a total jerk to Turan Efendiyev last week!"
- Devin Elliss def. Benny Thorvaldssen by pinfall; the ref didn't see Bruce Stuart's interference against Thorvaldssen!
- JP Myllyjärvi def. Yiannis Andreas Kazakis by submission. Good fight from the much-smaller Kazakis but
- Mattias Vlahos is attacked backstage by Sebastian Brown, but the lights go out; when they come back up, Brown is a shivering mess buried in the wreckage of a table.
- MAIN EVENT: Dean Chapman def. Kaélos Pathakos (pc) by knockout to win the EWA TV Title (11th reign), and it wasn't a long match at all. Rosa Pathakos wanted to at least distract Dean, but was prevented from doing so by Apollyon, who Speared her out of her wrestling boots then forced her to watch as Dean Chapman delivered the Brain Freeze to end the match. Not surprisingly, he vacated the belt immediately thereafter, having equalled his own record for shortest TV Title reign. "'Fundamentalist bozo,' eh? Next time, choose your words more carefully... you rich brat."
So who is going to contend for the TV Title on
Roughhousin'? We do know that Ruth Chisiza has to face Danae Pathakos, but with the men's TV Title vacant, it could be just about anyone! And there is tension within the First Family for the millionth time, as it seems this time that Kaélos has made a black sheep of himself! Mattias Vlahos is almost certain to fight Sebastian Brown, although whether or not he'll put his belt on the line remains to be seen! And Tris Marks' troubles with the Separatists continue to intensify! Join us in Billings, Montana for
Roughhousin'!
RESULTS, EWA BLITZ, 25 OCTOBER 2023, GENOA, ITALY- A furious Eva Clark starts out by calling Sexy Streamer out for her actions on Up-And-Coming, which sparks The Beautiful People coming out as a stable and telling her to "do something about it." But then the unmistakable music of the Kombat Klub hits and all-out war starts, especially with two unexpected guests! Eva and the three Kombat Klub women teed off against their counterparts, until Aaliyah noped out of there, marking the second episode in a row where she has done something questionable. With Indochina booked for a match and The Nauruan National Wrestling Team nowhere to be found, though, the men were outnumbered... until the Tongan Tower, Natane Huboka showed up and absolutely destroyed all three of the "Beautiful Men," throwing Gamboa out of the ring with a Military Press before locking the Tongan Death Grip on Théo Beaujean and Jimmy Mboya.
- Diesel Montgomery def. Big A Wambo by pinfall.
- Sexy Streamer gets into a heated argument with Aaliyah backstage for "leaving early," then reminds her of how she didn't show up on Up-And-Coming; Aaliyah counters by calling her a "heartless fake-breasted slut" for which the Mexican slaps her hard enough to knock her over. As if she didn't have enough people to watch out for though, the Mourit Triplets (who are Aaliyah's RL sisters-in-law) come to her rescue and Sexy Streamer runs back out to the ring.
- Shannon Kim © def. Sexy Streamer by disqualification to retain the Tier 2 Women's TV Title after Kris Pathakos, Jr. puts The Beautiful People on blast for being disruptive. Then Aaliyah storms out, grabs the microphone from the Tier 2 boss, and says she is done with The Beautiful People, and that "Oksana was right about you the whole time, and even the guys [Theo, Jimmy, and Gamboa] wouldn't have anything to do with you if not for the fact you slept with every last one of them, you whore!" Things getting heated here!
- Kadreddin Nabiyev def. Seven by pinfall. We saw the human Nabiyev anew in his first matchup back since ceasing to be "Lord Dredd." No longer cold and mechanical in his tactics, he brought back certain moves from his older repertoire and fought with serious fire, which is interesting, because he has renamed his finisher the "Immolation!" Kollector tried to get the jump on him afterwards but was subjected to his own finishing move, the Soul Stealer, which left him gagging!
- Big O def. Akintunde by pinfall.
- Andreas Koellendamm def. Pala Dolkar by pinfall.
- The Stooges def. Dockers by pinfall.
- It seems Tungsten hasn't forgotten the promise Lord Dredd made him, and how he failed to deliver on it; he threatens Kadreddin Nabiyev back stage.
- Robbie Irschick © def. Timi Vinidi by pinfall to retain the Tier 2 TV Title, and boy was this match close! The fans loved it!
- Tier 2 Cruiserweight Champion Ash Stevenson does a worked shoot promo on Tris Marks and declares himself "stable free."
- Warren Thomson calls a backstage meeting to discuss the Tier 1 split of the Hooligans, and while the defeated Dockers reaffirm their loyalty to Tris, The Goons try to get their fellow Canadian (Riley O'Bannon) to see reason, but all he does is attack Colby Shelley over it; the bigger Goon calls him "fake Irishman," referring to Separatist leader Ryan O'Martin. Big Wozz says the two tag teams need to "settle their differences like real men," so they decide to ask for a match on Throwdown.
- The All-Blacks def. Straight Outta GQ (Gamboa and Théo Beaujean) by pinfall. This was too easy given the beating they received from Natane Huboka earlier in the night!
- The Samoan Studs def. Indochina by pinfall, with a smitten Harumi Kitagawa looking on in approval!
- MAIN EVENT: Sookie Sam © def. Aurėlijus Maklėvičius by pinfall to retain the Tier 2 EWA Championship. It seems there's no stopping Sookie!
The Beautiful People situation continues to get uglier! The women are now fighting a two-front war against former comrades after Aaliyah left the stable. Will the Mourits' desire for an all-Arab stable now come to fruition? And will the Ice Queens become allies with Aaliyah and the Mourits, or will it become a three-way war? Also, the Kombat Klub's wrath is now hanging over them like a Sword of Damocles, especially amongst the men, as Shawn Agir and Kennan Aroi are now furious with Straight Outta GQ and with Jimmy Mboya as well! Perhaps TBP need to start recruiting again! But with Sexy Streamer's improprieties starting to come to the forefront, will they actually be able to? Finally, will Eva Clark finally change her scheming ways and align herself with the Kombat Klub?
Other stories to follow - Tungsten's match against Nabiyev, the ongoing shenanigans of the Abominations, Working Class Hooligans' Tier 2 split, and the Tier 2 TV Titles, Tag Team Championship, and EWA Championship all on the line as Friday night
Throwdown comes from Florence (or Firenze, if you prefer)!
RESULTS, EWA ROUGHHOUSIN', 26 OCTOBER 2023, BILLINGS, MONTANA
(Just a side note, this was one of the best-selling events in city history!)
- Kris Pathakos, Sr. opened the show by announcing two matches. The first would pit his twin sons, Kaélos and Georgios, against the Bog Boys, in the hopes that it would help assuage tensions within the family; the second match would be for the vacant EWA TV Title, and was booked between JMV and Lorne Christopher, the two highest-rated men who had never won the belt.
- Sha-Boogie def. Sapphira by submission.
- Danae Pathakos def. Ruth Chisiza (pc) by pinfall to win the EWA Women's TV Title! (Second reign)
- The Bog Boys def. The Pathakos Twins by pinfall; not only does this not heal the tension between the twins, but it makes it even worse! Kaélos' refusal to tag Georgios out results in a chorus of boos, but the taller of the two manages to kick out of a couple of big moves, including Gordan Bogdanovič's Dan-Ton Bomb. Kaélos' blind tag in backfires, as Nikolaj sees and hears it and starts screaming bloody murder at Gordan about it; in probably the biggest OMG moment of the match, Gordan Spears Kaélos through the ropes to the outside after jumping clear over a hunched-over Georgios and the fans go absolutely bonkers! "HOLY !@#$ HOLY !@#$" Georgios exits the ring and gets off the ring apron, preventing Kaélos from tagging him in, and Nik, just having tagged in, hits him with the Black Sea Blitz for the 1-2-3. After the match, the twins argue, then Kaélos attempts a Kika Cutter but Georgios slips out of it, locks in an inverted Half Nelson then nails him with High Culture as the Billings crowd starts chanting his name.
- JMV def. Lorne Christopher to win the vacant EWA TV Title! (First reign!) This was a fun match to watch between two higher-end cruiserweights! The Chilean JMV is now no longer the highest-rated man to have never won it as he hit his thrilling finisher, the Atacama Bomb, for the 1-2-3.
- Brothers In Arms def. Enosis by submission; Erkin Buzurbayev made Moustapha Berat tap with the Chagatai Choke.
- Tris goes off on a profanity-laced tirade when Gerry Granger phones to tell him that there are problems in Tier 2 now as well.
- Tris Marks def. John Crane by pinfall; the match was clean, much to the surprise of Joey Styles and co.!
- MAIN EVENT: Mattias Vlahos © def. Sebastian Brown by pinfall to retain the EWA Hardcore Championship. "You brought this on yourself, idiot!" Sebastian took two Tombstone Piledrivers into chairs from the much shorter Vlahos, after being reversed into a table in the corner when he was trying to Spear Death Incarnate into it.
How long will JMV hold his first-ever TV Title reign? On
Maniacal he faces Gylych Turesbekov, so we'll see! On the women's side of things, Danae Pathakos has what
should be an easier match in Scary Sally, but who knows? Will Mattias Vlahos spin the Idiot Wheel again? We'll see in Olympia, Washington!
RESULTS, EWA TIER 3 THURSDAY, 26 OCTOBER 2023, BARRANQUILLA, COLOMBIA- Terje Grimseth kicks this off with a promo, explaining why he gave Zamir Bokoyev the rematch he did and openly expressing hope that "down the road" he'll "be given another crack at the gold." But he says that right now his focus is elsewhere - specifically on Rögnvaldur, with whom he now has a massive problem. He rips the Icelander for "still being as big a hypocrite as ever" after the guy shot on him at a house show in Cartagena just down the road and basically whined about how he abandoned the "traditions of his forefathers," which Terje labelled as barbaric, immoral, and grossly outdated. "My MO right now is to bring you to your knees in repentance! And your Nightmare friends won't be able to help you with this one! Last time I checked, Kristijan Bogišić was in biobed therapy because Mr. Bokoyev dislocated his left shoulder, and The Phantom got so wrecked by Mr. Ibrashev that he needed back surgery!" (The latter was actually half-true; he did need back surgery, but Ibrashev's Kipchak Crunch on Tuesday was a later aggravating factor, not a direct cause.)
- Karim Niang def. Chris Malunga by pinfall.
- Michael Siddhu def. Turbo Tino by pinfall.
- The Barranquilla fans are given quite a pleasant surprise when the Tier 2 Women's Champion, Ágata, shows up! She is a native of Barranquilla. She explains that Irina Valdez has "too much drama going on" to make the trip.
- Lech Osmulski def. Reid Jeffers by pinfall.
- Marcin Djokić & Martina Krstajić def. SKN Forever by pinfall in something of an upset!
- Miss Natasha sulks at being the only member of Canadian Girls Kick Ass! without gold, but Sonya Craig says she's going to try and get her stablemate and tag-team partner a TV Title match for next Tuesday on Slobberknocker.
- Spurgeon MacEachern def. Jamaal Andrews by pinfall; it was a good match and both wrestlers were applauded as they shook hands. Still, one has to think that this puts Big Spurge in consideration for even the Tier 3 EWA Championship!
- Brisa def. Talia Lundmark (pc) by submission to win the Tier 3 Women's TV Title! Talia tried to cheat by having Sigrid run interference for her, but Ágata stopped her cold with a Yakuza kick, drawing a massive pop from the crowd.
- Ágata def. Sonya Craig by pinfall (non-title match); truly a main event-worthy match between the champions of two tiers, and Ágata put Sonya over in a promo afterwards, saying she "could easily contend for [her] belt in Tier 2!"
- MAIN EVENT: Kicham Alami def. Vadim Covalciuc, Mr. Wilson, Xiang Zhi-Han, Lukas Gölz, Oleksander Matviyenko, Rihard Pretner, and Lukašs Berziņš to win the vacant Tier 3 TV Title! (Second reign) Better known as a tag team wrestler (as is evidenced by the fact that he is indeed the current Tier 3 Tag Team Champion along with El Águila Marroquí), Kicham does have some singles chops as well and looked quite good in this matchup. Some pundits looking at this match afterward wondered what Berziņš was even doing in the matchup as he basically got squashed by the veteran Covalciuc; probably the most compelling rivalry within this match was "Covi" and the Slovene Rihard Pretner, which the latter eventually came out on top in through a lot of fight!
The fans definitely showed their appreciation for the wrestlers of EWA, and were very pleased to see "their woman" Ágata not only win a very hard-fought match, but also help keep a match clean, although Sigrid ended up in the biobed room! It seems that Angel Lorenzo Batista listened to Sonya Craig's request backstage, though, as Brisa's next opponent is none other than Miss Natasha! As for Kicham Alami, he will kick off his TV Title defences against Caribbean Connection member Denzel Bryant. So be sure to come back next Tuesday, as
Slobberknocker comes from Panama City!
