I was maxing out my RAM when I had 16 gigs and decided instead of upgrading to 32, to just max out my laptop, which based on what I have seen I would have maxed out 32 also.

Honestly kicking my self for getting the 16 gig mac mini model as the RAM is not upgradable and Im maxing it out just by using some VMs to mess around in.

If you really want to feel like peasants, in a previous IT job (c.2016) one of my employers doctors bought a desktop with 128 gigs, all he did was browse the web.

I'm a software engineer and I manage to do my work fine with just 16 GB, but I remember the good old days when I used to only need 256 MB. 😂
