Yeah, I understand that he basically incriminated himself. I'm certainly not trying to defend Cosby here: after all, even obtaining drugs with the intent to commit sexual assault - which, as you rightly pointed out, he has admitted to - makes him a disgusting person. Not to mention, it makes any defence that he might provide a lot harder to believe: if there's some innocent explanation here, then it had better be compelling. 

But, in any case, I do hope the courts are able to get the facts straight and make their judgement based on those. I really don't want to see him winning the appeal just because of fame or popular opinion.

I did not keep my eye on this trial because well it changed the whole thinking of what I thought this man was about. Obvious he is not as we thought he was or portrayed on his show.

Just as an update to this, a judge has ruled that Cosby is a "sexually violent predator", and must undergo counselling for life:

It's not been determined yet what prison sentence he might get, but the maximum sentence is 10 years (which, at his age, would likely amount to a life sentence). However, his legal team is pushing for house arrest instead (which, honestly, would be too light for what he did ).

House arrest? Uhh... no. Far too light for what he did. I'm hoping that the judge is sensible and tells the team to "SIDDOWN" as my friend Hikmat would say.  

Situations like these make me wonder how many other mainstream icons of the entertainment age have skeletons in their closet that haven't been uncovered.

I still hope he doesn't get out after only three years, but at least he's actually getting a prison sentence.

I’m not surprised he was sentenced to time in the State Prison, since it would look like preferential treatment if he only got house arrest, @ Kyng.

That may well be, but it's not enough for a shameless monster like him. Now, no one will look at "America's Dad" the same way again.

Cosby is borderline senile. In hindsight, it probably doesn't matter anymore. I think his lawyers are going to get him a better living accommodation, due to his age and wealth.

Sadly as it was stated previously he will probably either go to a place that is more up to his wealth position or less time spent. Or just not go. I have seen where it was house arrest after the sentence the judge changed it. But for him I still cannot believe it. I believe the women but the way he was portrayed on his TV show -- well obviously he is not that wholesome as they wanted the fans to believe.
