Marlow gave Duane a wave goodbye as he turned to leave, then walked closer to the birds with the two ladies.

"I wonder if it may take us a while to befriend them", he whispered. "Remember last time..."

“Probably, considering how they’re running away.” She pointed. “And what do you mean last time?” She cocked her head. “Maybe it’s best if I don’t ask.”

Cheryl made sure Duane was out of earshot, then turned to whisper into Chloe's ear. "Well, they got a bit aggressive... especially towards Duane. It was kind of his own fault for provoking them and invading their territory - but he was quite badly hurt. Might explain why he's so hesitant to be around them - but then, they surely feel the same way about him ..."
