I bet you’d like The Mythology Guy’s analysis of it:

Basically, it's not accurate to Greek/Classical mythology whatsover(still a great film.)
-Hades has what's Hera's role as Heracles' main antagonist.
-Heck, Hera would've basically been an Evil Stepmother archetype.
-Hades never plotted against Zeus.
-One of the few accurate things is the "No means Yes. Get lost means Take me I'm Yours."
-The Titans in the film are more like elemental kaiju and Zeus shouldn't logically be so helpless against them.
-Hades does not have fire for hair.
-The film's Philoctetes is more so the character and appearance of Pan, story role of Chiron, and the name Philoctetes all in a weird hodgepodge.
-Heracles was granted godhood after his death and ended up with Hebe; By the time he died, Megara was long dead.
-How did Hades get moussaka caught in his throat in Ancient Greece if it was only invented in 1920 AD? Probably one of Disney's anachronism jokes.
-The film's Titans have a role more similar to the mythical Gigantes in that Heracles was fated to beat them after they attacked Olympus.
-Heracles would be his Greek name; Hercules is the latinized spelling. His birthname would've been Alceus/Alcides(just say Al.)
-Someone said a mortal woman was more beautiful than Aphrodite? WHOA! HEY! You can't go around saying stuff like THAT in Greek mythology! That's how people get killed! Or worse.
-Heracles wasn't exactly a single child. Alcmene and Amphitryon(his birth mother and adoptive father) raised Iphicles as well. You didn't know about Iphicles did you?

Since it was originally a children's movie only intended for entertainment purposes, I don't really mind that it's not accurate to the mythology that it was somewhat based on. Now, if it were documentation or 'based on realism' then I'd maybe argue that it's not really true to the events it was based on.

Indeed, I don't go into these films expecting an accurate depiction of history: even the "based on a true story" ones are always changing things to make the narrative better :P .

But sometimes, enjoying a piece of entertainment like this can spark an interest in the real thing... and, in those cases, one of the first things I'll want to know is how true to reality the film was! (And if it wasn't historically accurate, then that won't impact my enjoyment of the film - after all, historical accuracy was never its goal to begin with - but, it's a good place for my interest in the real-world history to start)
