We all have a rough idea of what 'evening' is: the time after the 'afternoon', and before 'night' . But, when does 'afternoon' become 'evening' - and when does 'evening' become 'night'?
Myself, when I was a child, I always used to think 'evening' started at 6pm - as that was roughly when my dad got home from work, and also roughly when I had dinner. However, these days, I tend to think 'evening' starts at 5pm, since that's when I finish work .
As for when 'evening' finishes... I'd say 11pm. At that point, everybody (except myself) is either in bed, or getting ready to go to bed - and I think that puts it into 'night' territory .
What about you?
