Today, there was an annular eclipse, visible from parts of the USA and the UK - and it gave us some pretty nice images :) :

this is what saturn's northern pole looks like, a giant gaseous hexagon.

closer inspection reveals it to be  multiple super-hurricane vortexes swirling around a really huge central one like a giant whirlpool of gas.

Ah yes, I love that hexagon. I think I once saw someone joking that it was put there by alien fans of Civilization V (or maybe Catan, or some other hexagon-based strategy game :lol: !!!!)
