*Looks around*

This is a weird forum. I feel like I am treading on @ Jarkko 's territory since I have never posted in here once. :eyes:

ANYWAY,

I made this topic because this morning, I was talking to @ Kyng  about how my father in law's chihuahua woke me up again (no surprise there) and then it made me think about how I learned to spell that word. Sometimes with certain words, there are tricks one can use when helping them spell it. I learned how to spell chihuahua by sounding it out in my head as "Chi-Hoo-A-Hoo-A". One of my teachers randomly taught me that. I use the "Wed-Nes-Day" trick to help me spell Wednesday correctly as well.

So, do you guys have any of these useful spelling aids? :P

sloo: "Fanservice is whatever you envision it to be. Do you think Todd Howard made Skyrim envisioning Nilla's utter lust for tentacles?

sloo:"I make every woman take a quiz. If she can't tell me the differences between Vivec and Sotha Sil I'm forced to push her off a cliff"

Nilla: "I hate Todd Howard because he killed Nerevar and Sotha Sil."
sloo: "Nerevar's on vacation and Sotha lives in a computer chill"

I'll start with a couple that I've picked up over the years:

  • You can always find a rat in 'separate'.

  • A lot of children (and some adults :P ) struggle with the spelling of 'friend'. But to get the correct spelling, remember that FRIday comes at the END of the week... and that's when you can see your friends :P .

Oh, I got one. I think.

Leiothrichidae (laughingthrush family)

Lei = as in the flower necklace
Thrich = "the rich"
idae = all animal families end in "idae".

Principles are the most important thing in the world and should come FAR above profit. Looking at you business executives!
In contrast, the principal is no pal of yours. He/she will probably never get to meet you face to face.
