Do you prefer being single or in a Relationship?

Well, what do you prefer for your relationship status? I had been in relationships before, just don't enjoy them at all. Plus, I'm an asexual aromantic, so I can't feel any attraction towards anyone and I'd like to stay single for life and die an old maid. And yes, I'm not afraid to die alone because I believe I'll be reincarnated and have a better future life, so yeah. Hence why I don't think "romance" essential to me at all, don't take any offense, that's just my sexual orientation and lifestyle. I have done both lifestyles and I could truly say I prefer being single, having total control over myself and life, freedom and only then could I feel happiness and free. Plus, I'm self-sufficient emotionally speaking, so I don't have to have anyone else's validation, I could self-assess. So yeah, others can't make me happy, only I myself could.

So, for me, it's not really a matter of 'preference'. I feel like there are pros and cons to either situation, so I am content to be in whatever situation I am in. Right now, I'm fine with being single. But, if a girl comes into my life at some point, I'm sure I'd be totally alright with that, if a bit stressed by it!!

I prefer being in a relationship, as I get very lonely (and have been for about 2 years now). It makes me feel better knowing I have someone to confide in. Also, I don't want children, so I better hope my bf doesn't either. :P

I'm in pretty much the same boat as Pyrite here. There are pros and cons to each: being in a relationship is great if the right partner comes along, but being in a relationship just for the sake of it is just daft.

(Though, "not being in a relationship just for the sake of it" has left me single for 7 years now. Maybe for the best, since I just suck at relationships :P !)

Humans are innately social creatures. I think the satisfaction of being with somebody you genuinely love, and who loves you back just as much, and sharing that special bond... is stronger than any pros being single can net you.

There are asocial people as well and I am one. Hence why also I can't stand being in a relationship. For me, being alone is my joy, happiness and freedom, so please don't generalize.

You can keep trying to convince yourself that, I guess.

I also can't feel romantic love, I'm an asexual aromantic. Don't believe in that notion. To the 3 little words : "I love you", I feel nothing for. That's purely your belief on romance and that's mine. I'm respecting your opinion but please respect mine too. Thank you.
